Position Summary

The CNC Programmer II will support the team through creating and revising CNC programs, design and validate multi-step machining operations, design and source custom fixturing, support current production and prototype projects while maintaining company quality and safety standards and create and manage engineering documents, including drawings, inspection documents, tool layouts, offset sheets, operator and setup instructions.

Duties

  • Manage the onboarding of new projects, overseeing the entire process from PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) to final delivery.
  • Develop efficient CNC programs for complex parts.
  • Select appropriate tooling for various machining processes, optimizing productivity and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Provide valuable input on fixturing design, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and ensure accurate part specifications using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Program CNC machines and perform complex machine setups to facilitate the production of intricate and challenging components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth and efficient production runs.
  • Continuously improve existing manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce cycle times.
  • Collaborate with design and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new parts into the production process.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements, incorporating best practices to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
     

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of part manufacturing, machine setup and part programming required in manufacturing process development.
  • Proficient with computer software to perform required tasks. This includes Solid Works, Microsoft Excel, Auto CAD and/or Part Maker.
  • Knowledge of fixture design and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of G code programming and using CAM software 
  • Full understanding of tooling applications (speed and feeds).
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
     

Preferred Experience

  • Strong attention to details and organization.
  • Capable of communicating clearly with management on all issues and improvements 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and customers.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
