Position Summary

STERIS has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Generalist.

 

This role will support our St. Louis site, a showcase plant with our manufacturing and chemical packaging teams. Additionally this role will support the St. Louis Distribution Center.

 

The Senior HR Generalist partners with managers and employees at various levels to provide HR support and solutions. Will work in conjunction with senior HR partner of business group. Specific areas of influence include talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation/salary administration, training and development, compliance, and special projects. Interfaces with plant and department management in assuring the delivery of all Human Resources initiatives.

 

 

Duties

  • Recruiting – full lifecycle support. May partner with central recruiting team to guide selection process with assigned areas
  • Employee Relations/Performance Management – Consult/coach managers as they handle performance issues and talent development needs. Directly handle ER issues, conduct investigations and recommend solutions
  • Support HR leadership team – HR research, project support, reporting/analytics, and champion HR initiatives
  • Training – HR orientation, and facilitate other HR training sessions as needed
  • No direct reports, but will delegate tasks to others

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 4 years experience with Bachelors in HR, Business Admin, Behavioral Sciences, Org Development
  • 3 years of experience must include recruiting, Employee Relations, performance management, and training and development
  • Experience in manufacturing, operations, and/or distribution centers
  • Proficiency with HR systems (HRIS, ATS)
  • Knowledge and application of current HR trends, best practices and compliance issues

Preferred Experience

  • Prefer Masters/MBA
  • Experience working in a Unionized environment
  • Prefer HR certifications in recognized HR tools or development programs (MBTI, DDI, PHR, etc)
