Position Summary
STERIS St. Louis produces world-class consumable products for use in healthcare and life sciences. Our customers rely on us to deliver the highest level of quality. In this internship, you will be supporting our customer’s efforts to make patients safer through infection prevention by contributing to our manufacturing training program. You’ll be working alongside the Training Manager and collaborating with other site team members to support the site’s vision and goals.

What You'll do as a Training Intern
- Understand the overall role of the company and appreciate the importance of training to a successful manufacturing process.
- Learn and become proficient on internal software systems.
- Engage with Union and non-Union team members to provide and track training, with a focus on Compliance Training (Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions).
- Complete/Print/Deliver (to HR) Day1 New Hire forms for new employees.
- Maintain Audit Log of New Hires and enter completed Skills Training Verification forms into the eSQDC (Electronic Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost database).
- Support Value Stream Managers and Supervisors / Understand and assist to fulfill their training needs.
- Assist in Training materials development.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or other related field
- Junior year requirements must be completed by program start (May 2025)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams
Referred:
- Experience with desktop publishing, graphic design, and/or HoloLens a plus
- Technical writing experience
- Knowledge/experience in a manufacturing setting
- Awareness of adult learning principles
Other:
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and standard work
- Personal ownership of actions and time-management/organizational skills
- Openness to coaching/mentoring
