As a Senior Service Engineering Specialist you will organize and maintain the field service logistic functions, utilizing all available resources and technologies to achieve superior customer service. You'll interact with all STERIS manufacturing facilities Engineering groups, Inventory Control groups, and Supply Chain groups to achieve desired results. You will join a critical function that supports field equipment parts and documentation  necessary, to meet STERIS quality standards and regulatory requirements to support sustainability initiatives supporting New Product Releases and existing Legacy Products.

What you'll do as a Sr. Service Engineering Specialist:

  • Coordinate requirements and provide team leadership associated with Material Review Board Process and/or Service Pre-Order Proposal Process and/or Industrial Engineering functions as they pertain to the refurbished parts program.
  • Liaison with Inventory Control, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Engineering to assure correct parts setup on ordering and systems (AS400 and Oracle) and communicates updates impacting refurbished parts vendors when releases and changes are made by various Manufacturing plants and outside vendors.
  • Serve as overall project coordinator for support of test development relating to refurbished parts projects which include site visitations, cost estimations, troubleshooting, engineering, scheduling of installation and onsite assistance and guidance of new test fixtures.
  • Develop, and update existing, refurbished parts and sustaining initiatives as standard product offerings to expand service revenue opportunities.
  • Respond to daily customer phone contact to resolve technical issues/refurbished part alternative identification/procurement problems.
  • Communicate with the field as required through all available methods.
  • Effectively coordinate special projects as assigned utilizing Service Support Specialists, Service Engineers, Designers and Draft persons to fulfill assignments.
  • Provide Guidance and technical support on systems or the team.
  • Serve on new product development teams to ensure refurbished parts development requirements are in place such as test fixtures to support refurbishment of parts.
     

The Experience, Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Associates Degree is required and within the Electronics space. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of mechanical/electrical experience. 12 years total experience required in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with Field Service Engineering operations, parts distribution systems, inventory processes new product development processes and software systems is required.
  • Experience in interpretation and modification of blueprints, technical literature/drawings and C.A.D. drawings required.
  • Experience in working with parts procurement and vendor interfacing.
  • Previous project and team lead experience preferred.  
  • Team and project leader skills in organization of work functions to meet customer deadlines.
  • MRP system experience and expertise a must have using AS400, Siebel, and Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Teams, Power Point, etc.).
  • Current experience and expertise on a broad range of STERIS controls and equipment is preferred.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with STERIS product lines both past and present.  Including functional operation and equipment design.
