Summary

The Senior Assembler performs assembly work utilizing lean principles (one-piece flow) to produce electronic products in a controlled work environment. Assemble sub-assemblies, finished product and final test for release to the Customer. Build quality assemblies using blueprints, procedures, and fixtures. Follow GMP standards, with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions using a variety of hand tools and automated equipment. Works well with a team and collaborates with people from other departments both inside and outside manufacturing with little to no supervision. The Senior Assembler will also provide training, mentoring and expertise as requested.

What You'll do as a Senior Assembler

  • Obtain shop orders, pull assembly drawings and procedures for jobs.
  • Package assemblies and move assemblies to staging area for transfer.
  • Reject non-conforming parts and complete Non-Conformance Report (NCR) for Supervisor to approve.
  • Interpret and assemble routine and complex components following drawing.
  • Use departmental test procedures and fixtures, to ensure components and assemblies meet required specifications
  • Install sub-assemblies into enclosures and wire to components with the use of hand tools and according to drawings and assembly instructions
  • Document revision levels, lot numbers, and serial numbers on DHR for tracking quality of components and assemblies.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Mentor and train team members as need and collaborates to provide assembly expertise for troubleshooting, NPD and ad hoc projects.
  • Perform product repairs, as necessary, with direction from Supervisor. Cross trains in other manufacturing processes for back up and flexibility.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years general assembly experience.
  • Experience using Lean Manufacturing tools, such as, 5S, Visual Management, Waste elimination, and Root Cause Problem Solving.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
