Position Summary

Develop procedures for the Radiation Safety and Security Program to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Implement policies and procedures in the Radiation Safety Program to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and to maintain personal exposures As Low As Reasonably Achievable. Provide training and guidance to Facility Radiation Safety Officers to ensure that Radiation Safety Program policies and procedures are effective and implemented correctly. Conduct annual Radiation Safety and Security Program audits in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations and prepares and submits written reports. Assist in maintaining STERIS Cobalt 60 source inventory. Assist with Cobalt 60 loading as needed at North American facilities. Develop and perform training to qualify individuals to act as irradiator operators in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Employ the hierarchy of controls to control workplace radiation related hazards. This includes performing hazard assessments, selecting equipment, providing training and monitoring to determine the effectiveness of controls. Up to 60 percent travel to client sites throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Radiation Engineering or Chemical Engineering and two (2) years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must also have demonstrated experience in the following: Conducting radiation safety and security audits that comply with state regulations; Managing radiation safety equipment inventory and radioactive material inventory; Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA); Project Management; Product Failure (ANSYS); Python; R; and Matlab.

Pay range for this opportunity is $89,610. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
