STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST) announced several expansion projects throughout our global sterilization and laboratory network. Australia now amongst the countries involved in the expansion. We are now on the lookout for qualified technicians and engineers to join our AST team in Australia.

As our business grows, we are looking to further strengthen our service organisation by hiring a Field Service Technician to perform major project installations, upgrades to existing equipment and assist in preventative and corrective maintenance either on site or remotely. The role is a key contributor to STERIS's safety culture and ensure compliance to all policies, procedures and global code of conduct.

What You Will Do

• Assemble and install complex equipment, participates in major projects as an experienced resource, and performs service and installation related tasks
• Uses engineering drawings and documentation to identify problems, address customer issues, and execute solutions
• Performs routine preventative maintenance visits and deploys upgrades. Can perform these tasks independently or with little oversight.
• Performs and oversees machine conditioning at customer sites; supports conditioning efforts at customer sites remotely. (e.g. uses digital scopes to assess problem, runs dosimetry tests)
• Utilizes collaborative service, data collection, technology, and systems tools to perform service duties. (E.g. gathers diagnostic information and performs initial analyses, uses technology to diagnose errors or technical problems and works with Customer to implement solutions remotely)
• Develops and shares Customer site data in support of reliability and technical advances.
• Maintains compliance to all regulatory requirements in local jurisdictions where work is performed
• Performs duties in accordance with target metrics and KPIs as defined by senior leadership
• Responds to customer support calls and resolves complex issues in accordance with STERIS customer service and quality metrics.
• Builds and fosters relationships with customers, communicates feedback to leadership, and ensures quality execution of all value-added services

What You Will Need

1.  Associates degree in related field 

2.  4-6 years’ experience in one of the following areas or a combination of these fields will be considered: 

• Electromechanical
• Mechanical
• Millwright
• Robotics and automation
• PLC / software development
• Control systems

Your Expertise

• Knowledge of electro- mechanical systems, components, tests, tools and principles 
• Basic level knowledge of sterilization system layout and components 
• Focus on conveyors or product delivery systems would be a great asset
• Skills in repairing, testing, and maintaining technical equipment using various electro-mechanical tools.
• Prior experience in a leadership role
• Prior experience in a project management role with a focus on electrical, mechanical, or highly technical projects.

Salary Package

$70k-80k plus superannuation
