Position Summary

The Warehouse Associate I role, is a functional role responsible for performing all required functions needed to pick and pack an order, assemble, ship, and/or receive Customer products while ensuring proper and accurate documentation.

Duties

The below listed duties are reflective of all HuFriedyGroup Distribution/Warehouse locations, thus local skill requirements and essential duties may vary:

  • Performs all Distribution/Warehouse functions as outlined in established procedures.
  • Select, check, pack and/or palletize, and label all types of standard orders for shipment
  • Perform highly repetitive packaging, assembly, and/or machine operation
  • Receives Customer product through acceptance or unloading shipping container, including pallet breakdown, and identifying box weights; processes all applicable documentation in an accurate manner.
  • Coordinates staging of incoming Customer product by transferring or overseeing the transfer of product to the non-process storage locations in a safe and damage-free manner.
  • Inspects finished goods as they move from packaging to assembly, as well as inspect incoming or outgoing Customer product for damages and/or count discrepancies and report such conditions as outlined in established procedures.
  • Maintains and submits warehouse reports depicting where products are staged within the facility.
  • Verifies that all identified damages and/or count discrepancies have been reported and resolved.
  • Ensures shipment of product within shipping deadline by maintaining contact with internal facility staff. Prepares product for shipment by retrieving Customer product from processed area and staging in shipping area; prepares accurate shipping documentation; loads product into shipping trailers/containers or transfers small packages to delivery service.
  • Ensures timely receipt or shipment of Customer product by assisting material handling activities, loading and unloading trucks.
  • Ensures quality conformance against bills of material as well as visual controlled images.
  • Actively participates and supports Lean and Safety initiatives, as well as daily cycle count programs and other directives, when required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Operate forklift and/or other material handling equipment, as needed
  • Meet department productivity and quality goals.
  • Contributes to a team effort by performing in accordance with all STERIS/HuFriedyGroup policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs other duties as assigned, to ensure team continuity across all warehouse operations.

Education Degree

High School Diploma or GED

Skills and/or Competencies

  • General proficiencies in Microsoft Office and ERP required (SAP and/or ShopVue preferred)
  • Ability to be licensed to operate powered industrial equipment in a safe and professional manner (i.e. Forklift or yard truck).
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing responsibilities, and prioritize duties
  • Ability to work under regularly supervision, either independently or as a team, in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Requires ability to navigate through defined computer screens and STERIS Operational Data Management System.
  • Organizing, analyzing, and basic math skills (four basic arithmetic functions in all units of measurement, decimals, ratios, rates, percentages).
  • Show an attention to detail and ensure data accuracy (Receiving Reports, Bills of Lading, etc.).
  • Requires effective interpersonal skills as demonstrated through prior experience.
  • Able to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities.
  • Normal hearing range sufficient to hear alarms, bells, horns, etc.
  • Requires knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance

Pay range for this opportunity is $13.94 - $19.44. 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
