Our Sterile Processing Technicians take pride in their work because they know it plays an important role in patient safety. Safe procedures start with clean instruments. Our Sterile Processing Technicians work behind the scenes of healthcare facilities in a fast-paced environment, impacting patient safety without being patient facing. What You Will Do
- Reprocess surgical trays post-surgery; ensuring they are decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled within a timely manner and ready for the next case
- Operate sterile processing washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic and drying cabinets
- Participate in regular on-site training
What You Need to Be Successful
1. A high school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist program preferred.
2. 6 months - 1+ years of SPD or transferrable experience required.
3. Some states require CRCST or CSPDT certification as a prerequisite of the job.
a. If required, must maintain certification by completing 12 Continuing Education Credit Hours annually.
4. Basic computer skills and aptitude.
5. Medical instrument knowledge preferred.
6. Knowledge of sterilization and processing equipment preferred.
7. Ability to work daily in a fast-paced, high pressure Healthcare Service environment.
8. Awareness of LEAN concepts and ability to translate this in the work environment preferred.
9. Communicates in a professional manner to all hospital staff, Customers and company employees via all forms of communication.
10. Must be a team player and demonstrate flexibility to work in all areas of the department to meet production demands.
