Position Summary

The Senior HR Generalist partners with managers and employees at various levels to provide human resources support and solutions in a manufacturing facility setting.  Will work in conjunction with the Senior Human Resources Business Partner of the business group.

What You Will Do

  • Recruiting – full lifecycle support.  Partner with recruiting team to guide selection process with assigned areas.
  • Employee Relations/Performance Management – Consult/coach managers as they handle performance issues and talent development needs.  Directly handle Employee Relations issues, conduct investigations and recommend solutions. 
  • Support HR leadership team – HR research, project support, reporting/analytics, and champion HR, plant and lean initiatives.
  • Training – HR orientation, and facilitate other HR training sessions as needed.
  • No direct reports, but will delegate tasks to others and oversee performance of HR support team.
  • Portion of the day spent on the manufacturing floor supporting associates.

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 4 years relevant HR experience required (including 1-3 years of recruiting, staffing, and employee relations experience).
  • HR Certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM)
  • Experience working in a union environment required.
  • Working knowledge of employment law, AAP, performance management practices, and employee relations practices.
  • Proficiency with HR systems (HRIS, ATS)
  • Knowledge and application of current HR trends, best practices and compliance issues.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing or related industry preferred. 
  • Strong analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills.
