At Steris AST we are the trusted experts in technology-neutral sterilization services including radiation and gas modalities.
We offer electron beam, gamma, X-ray, ethylene oxide and vaporized hydrogen peroxide technologies for the purpose of product sterilization. WHAT YOU WILL DO
This role is critical to arantees the delivery of world class service to our Customers, by identifying, designing, developing, communicating, and implementing innovative engineering solutions, primarily focussing on EBeam and Xray facilities across STERIS AST Global. Ensuring that solutions identified add value, remove risk ,are scalable and that Business cases are formulated and presented based on STERIS return on investment criteria demonstrating and embracing STERIS values including safety, quality, Customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness. Supervises projects through their lifecycle including Business case, Capital approvals, URS, FDS,etc,. Communicates across the Business creating working groups and steering committees to gain consensus.

- Determine and define EBeam and Xray engineering solutions and objectives in line with company goals with key milestones and deliverables.
- Assemble key stakeholders, sharing vision, describing opportunity and gaining consensus.
- Define communication and management of risk and change related to Projects.
- Continuously create and update stakeholders with progress and targets.
- Identify and assess risks and issues/manage accordingly.
- Plan and allocate resources needed to reach objectives, manage them effectively and efficiently.
- Identify vendors and suppliers, manage contracts, assign tasks, and communicate expected timelines.
- Accountable for preparing, requesting, and supervising budget, capital investments and expenses for field of competence (contracts, parts, services).
- Collect and monitor project progress to ensure continuous improvement in line with STERIS world class safety objectives and the Quality management system, utilising appropriate validation documentation (e.g. change controls) where necessary.
- Identification and communication to internal and external project stakeholders.

- Utilise industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution such as GAMP5 and/or PRINCE2 methodology.
- Measure project performance against KPI’s at project close-out to define success and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure that project teams operate within and towards the published STERIS Corporate vision and global objectives, including LEAN, 5S, Sustainability and One Team One Goal strategies.
- Apply to STERIS Values, culture and ethos managing the business, Customers and staff.
Required Experience
- Educated to degree level or 2-5 years experience
- Project management experience
- Awareness of quality management and documentation.
- Good understanding of the principle of continuous improvement.
- Proven leadership and Communication qualities (leading by example).
- High degree of trust, integrity and honesty.
- Acute awareness of the importance of safety to the business.
- Willing to go the extra mile for our Customers (Customer First, always).
- Well-developed understanding of risk and risk avoidance.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- Good understanding of technology and innovation. Some exposure to the industrial irradiation systems would be a distinct advantage.
- Able to remain calm under pressure and make rational decisions.
- Attention to detail.
