Position Summary

Leads the development activities for application solutions including supervising daily operations of a team of Software Engineers and Application Developers, coordinating projects and tasks across multiple resources and departments, and collaborating on the design, development, testing and deployment of solution according to project delivery plans while adhering to the standards and documentation requirements. 

Duties

  • Manage a team of high caliber software engineering professionals building applications, systems, and technology business solutions for our external and internal Customers. 
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach software development professionals at various levels of experience and skills. Set expectations and provide timely and open feedback to foster continual individual development.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand requirements, set priorities, and communicate progress. Plan and align multiple teams and resources per project requirements. Monitor activities and helps team remove roadblocks. 
  • Manage and execute against project plans and deliver commitments within a high paced environment. Apply a broad knowledge of development design, system testing automation and continuous delivery methodologies.
  • Lead Agile processes, coach cross-functional teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and foster an Agile culture for delivering quality products, while mentoring team members and optimizing value delivery.
  • Assess and documents the program logic flow. Ensures team adheres to required documentation standards.
  • Coordinate with development teams to plan and execute software releases, including version control, branching strategies, and deployment pipelines to establish and maintain a robust release management process, ensuring efficient and timely software deployments.
  • Collaborate on the development of system and automation test architecture and strategy. Ensure team’s activity is aligned with system architecture and automated testing requirements. 
  • Own all operational metrics and support of team’s delivered product. Ensure product meets required quality and security standards. 
  • Drive improvements in system development and innovative technologies such as development frameworks, development process tools, cloud infrastructure and recommends applications and tools to deliver value and increase product quality and security. 
  • Acts as change manager, provides technical code and functional logic reviews, approves and/or deploys system change requests in accordance with documented policies and procedures.
  • Provide production support and work closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure a reliable and scalable infrastructure to support software systems.

Education Degree

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Business

Required Experience

  • Experienced developing across a full stack. 
  • Technical Competency in developing scalable applications. 
  • Experience with automation testing, performance engineering, CI/CD, release management and deployment processes 
  • Variety of programming languages and technologies. 
  • Experience leading or managing staff directly as well as sourced teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess User needs, creatively approach solutions, and influence appropriate outcomes.
  • Advanced experience working and mentoring others in an Agile environment. 
  • Functional experience with DevOps. 
  • Functional experience with PaaS model, Azure cloud services. 
  • Knowledge in API design & development and microservices architecture.

Skills

  • Certification in development tools, SDLC, Agile and/or project management preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle and project management disciplines. 
  • Ability to lead teams and provide regular coaching sessions, reviews and develop plans to improve skill sets. 
  • Strong professional verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong analytical skills and technical skills. 
  • Manages projects and has a proven record of meeting project deadlines. 
  • Ability to identify root cause for complex problems and issues in applications / systems and implement permanent solutions. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities.  
  • Ability to partner with contract resources in the best interest of STERIS. 

 Pay range for this opportunity is $90,250.00 - $121,485.00.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
