Position Summary

Responsible for all Ethylene Oxide (EO) Gas Drum connection /disconnections to production lines and EO scheduled deleveies to the Tullamore campus. Responsibility for all all associated documentation and for
ensuring SCBA air cylinders and compressors are maintained/filled as per internal STERIS procedures.


Functional Responsibilities:
• Responsible for checking production lines on a daily basis to ensure adequate supply of Ethylene Oxide for scheduled Customer cycles.
• Connect/disconnect EO drums on all production lines as required and thorough completion of all associated documentation.
• Comply with all Health and Safety requirements and additional specific requirements associated with the handling and use of ethylene oxide.
• Loading and unloading of scheduled EO deliveries using mandatory manual handling equipment and thorough and accurate completion of all associated documentation.
• Maintain adequate supply of Ethylene Oxide on site and informsupervisor/Manager in a timely manner of any concerns.
• Ensure adequate supply of SCBA cylinders are available for use by production and complete all associated documentation in this regard.
• Complete all associated mainteance checks on SCBA masks cylinders and compressor as per internal STERIS procedures
• Reporting any defects/issues to Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner
• Identifies, recommends and implements with approval, economic, electrical, mechanical, instrument and controls related projects which lead to improved process performance.
• Assists/liases with and/or organises contractors to carry out work requested by STERIS.
• All other duties as deemed appropriate by line manager.

Operational Responsibilities:
• Interacts with all STERIS employees in a constructive manner.
• As required, performs the duties of process operators, including shift work if necessary.
• Performs all tasks with due recognition of Safety, Environmental, Quality/GMP and Company
• Has specific and general responsibilities in respect of the Quality System.
• Maintains accurate and sufficiently detailed records of all activities performed.
• Upholds relevant quality standards as set out in STERIS Procedures and other controlled
• Notifies Supervisor of any problem arising in particular any safety critical events.
• Attends training sessions relevant to the function and is proactive to ongoing learning.
• Demonstates flexibility and adaptability.

Education Degree


Required Experience

  • 2-3 years facilities experience in an appropriate industry.
  • Hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of materials handling equipment is an advantage.
  • Must be responsive to requests for assistance and work well within the team.
  • Competent in use of Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Team worker, problem solver, Quality focused
  • Ability to work on own iniative

  • Strong analytical and decision making skills, strong understanding and conscious of safe work practices, proactive to learning, flexiable and adaptable.
