Regional Engineering Manager

Position Summary

The Regional Engineering Manager is responsible for establishing and promoting plans for plants’ reliability improvement, availability maximization, downtime reduction, and spare parts availability for the EMEA – APAC Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST) business. STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies is a global leading provider of contract sterilization, laboratory testing, and product and packaging testing services to medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers. You will coordinate regional E-beam/X-rays engineering and maintenance team in line with STERIS AST targets and programs, supervising the engineering and maintenance budget, capital and operational expenditures, quality performance and Health&Safety. This role can be home based, or office based at one of our sites in the region. International travel (Europe) required approximately 20-30% of time.

Duties

  • Lead, develop and coordinate the team of Site Maintenance Supervisors
  • Supervise sites’ Engineering budget, capital investments and expenses for field of competence (contracts, parts, services)
  • Put in place and supervise suitable preventive maintenance activities, based on field data collection and analysis
  • Liaise with site managers/operation managers to minimize operation disruption during maintenance activity
  • Manage interactions with vendors, suppliers, contractors and consultants
  • Ensure spare parts availability across sites - oversee the sourcing process of spare parts, to guarantee their arrival on time; constantly keep under control the spare parts warehouse, in order to minimize downtime in case of machines unplanned downtime
  • Develop and implement monitoring solutions
  • Organize suitable contractors’ support
  • Propose and implement technology innovations
  • Ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively.
  • Ensure safe engineering practices by development of an effective safety culture, enforcement of safety practices in compliance to internal and external requirements and regulations.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of maintenance processes and activities in line with STERIS world class safety objectives and the Quality management system.

Education Degree

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related technical degree.
    • 5-10 years of experience in Engineering areas, including robotics, automation of manufacturing lines, conveyance systems, PLC/machine interface and software solutions.
    • Good understanding of technology and innovation. Some exposure to the industrial irradiation systems would be a distinct advantage

    • Ability to work in a highly regulated environment.
    • Hands on experience and attitude in planning and support maintenance operations
    • Understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance activities & procedure
    • Solid project management skills and ability to manage multiple, high priority situations at once. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to make sound data driven business decisions. Strong attention to details, follow-through skills.
    • Ability to drive continuous improvement for performance, quality, time and cost
    • Excellent communication skills (oral & written) in English
    • Experience / willing in working in multinational / multicultural environment
