Position Summary

This position is responsible for the sales and marketing management of the Endoscopy business unit that includes both STERIS Endoscopy and Cantel Endoscopy in Japan. Must work cross-functionally within the organization and effectively with the external stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Manufacturers, Regional distributors, Clinicians and KOLs) to execute company initiatives and manage all aspects of the endoscopy business, its commercialization and business operations. This is achieved through portfolio expansion and continued market penetration with the core products along with strategic partnerships with distribution partners, key opinion leaders as well as clinical associations.  Contribute to the evolution of the organization as new protocols and business methods gain adoption.  Work with a sense of urgency, understand the business expectations, and always maintain focus on the changing priorities and strategies of the endoscopy business unit in Japan.


  1. Accountable for achieving and / or exceeding STERIS Endoscopy/Cantel Endoscopy revenue, profitability and strategic objectives in Japan. 
  2. Develops and executes the three to five-year strategic plan for Japan with specific focus on the development of a sales / marketing organization. This will be achieved through collaboration with APAC Business Management Team.
  3. Manages the commercial operations in Japan. Ensures the distribution network is poised to meet and exceed revenue objectives and is aligned with the APAC STERIS Endoscopy business unit strategy.  
  4. Provides leadership, training, and support to STERIS Endoscopy’s Japan distribution network.  
  5. Analyzes financial results to gauge performance/trends and responds resolution accordingly.
  6. Manages the annual fiscal / quarterly planning process including revenue and operating budgets control for STERIS Endoscopy in Japan.
  7. Responsible for relationship building with physician key opinion leaders and Japanese gastroenterology society and its subsidiary organizations and distribution sales team in Japan. This is achieved in support of the STERIS Endoscopy business portfolio and branding throughout Japan.
  8. Identifies and supports business and new product market development opportunities in Japan.
  9. Supports clinical trade shows/endoscopy workshops, leverages KOL relationships, positions STERIS Endoscopy products for inclusion in live courses, solicits feedback on ideas.   
  10. Other special duties as assigned by the management team. Ensure all the company business activities in a compliant manner. Act as a leadership role model at all times by complying with the Company’s values. Exhibit high standard of performance and professional conduct.

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • 12 + years of progressive management experience in the Healthcare market, preferably Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 
  • 12 + years prior experience with a multinational firm required.  
  • 10 + years of strong P&L responsibility with emphasis on growth, revenue and income generation as well as strategic positioning.  
  • 5 years of budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting and employee selection required.
  • High integrity and professional ethics. Excellent skills in negotiation, planning, organization, communication, coordination, problem solving and team spirit. Outstanding project management and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications; English language proficiency is necessary. 
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, integerity and be willing to accept responsibilities.
  • Good experience in channel development and management. Strong networks and client relationship. Excellent sales track record.
