Position Summary

To carry out the correct handling and processing of customer’s goods in line with Standard Operating Procedures.  Deputise for the Supervisor in his/her absence. Act as a driver for continuous improvement ensuring opportunities are reported and recorded Provide efficient and pro-active support to the site as part of a dedicated team and to embrace the brand values of STERIS AST

Duties

Duties covering 

Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and Safety 

  • Manage physical quarantine process within procedures.
  • To assist in Non conformance and root cause analysis investigations and reporting.
  • To record all damage is contained and reported using site procedures.
  • To take the initiative in contacting the support services such as Maintenance, IT, QA and Management in the event of a Plant fault during silent hours when appropriate
  • To take the initiative and resolve labour cover in an event of unplanned labour shortages.
  • To take the lead and initiative to resolve situations ito support schedule
  • Take ownership of the Plant SQDC boards and lead daily PIT meetings.
  • To identy, verify and label customer’s product and place the correct dosimeters/BIs in conjunction with standard operating procedures. Process all Customer’s product in line with special instructions and processing parameters.

  • To Maintain and constantly improve the Site 5S Standards throughout the duration of the shift.
  • Conduct regular planned 5s Audits and action follow up
  • To adhere and complete standard work daily, weekly and monthly
  • To take responsibility, during silent hours, for the security of the premises and Customer goods.
  • Identified safety concerns to be recorded using site procedure and escalate to the appropriate site safety representative.
  • To ensure all staff are wearing appropriate PPE throughout the shift
  • To report all SOV COSHH product not as per current Site Regulation.
  • Conduct and report regular safety checks

 

  • Act as a leader in the team.
  • Provide coaching and corrective actions when needed
  • Manage employee time and attendance, reporting instances to Supervisor
  • Continuously monitor work area for unsafe conditions and take immediate action to correct unsafe conditions.
  • Attend Monthly CI workgroups with supervisor/Operations Manager

Preferred Experience

  • Can demonstrate working as a line manager with a diverse team. 
  • Minimum of 3 (Three) years professional experience working in a highly regulated operations environment
  • Experience in similar operational role in a manufacturing business (production unit or plant).
  • Strong experience in leading teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to train, develop and mentor employees.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite
