Position Summary

The EMEA and Asia region of STERIS Applied Sterilisation Technologies (AST) continues to exhibit strong growth and the team is extending and expanding across the region with new facilities currently under construction, adding to the 37 locations outside the US. This role will sit within the Business Finance Team and provides analytical support to the Finance and Operations Team.

Header

The key element of this role is the management of capital expenditure process across the global business (outside the US).  The role also involves the creation and monitoring of the capital plan and forecasting of expenditure. The successful candidate will take a leading role in the approval process, getting involved with many exciting projects across the region, and will develop a good understanding of the workings and future strategy of the business

Duties

Capital Project Maintenance – 60%

  • Gather and maintain the Capital Project Portfolio, including creating and maintaining support of AST actual capital expenditures 
  • Create and maintain worksheets / charts to quickly analyze AST Capital Project Portfolio versus plan
  • Process Capital Approval Request forms
  • Review capital requests in compliance with the STERIS capital policy, suggest changes as required, secure approvals and submit the approved capital requests to the project coordinator for set up in Oracle Financials. 
  • Prepares financial assessments/analysis to support post investment reviews.

     

    Financial Analysis and Review – 30%

     

  • Assists in the month, quarter and year-end financial close process for the AST. 
  • Creates and submits AST journal entries in support of the close process.  
  • Provides backup documentation to management for requested financial information. 
  • Creates and provides to AST management on a monthly basis, various financial reports                                               including actual results vs. plan vs. prior year and forecasted information.  

     

Forecasting, Planning and Budgeting Cycle – 10%

  • Participate in AST quarterly forecasting and annual planning/budget process. 
  • Tracks financial status by monitoring variances from plan. 
  • Determines financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results. 
  • Special Ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned - Perform various financial inquiries as requested. 

Required Experience

The role would be ideal for a candidate with an accounting background seeking to become more involved in business finance and financial planning and analysis. We welcome candidates from any industry.
