Position Summary

Logistics Technician is a key position within Supply Chain, with the responsibility to assure compliance to federal,

provincial, and local traffic regulations while maintaining appropriate delivery schedules both internally and

externally across all of STERIS. This role is required to ensure practices remain compliant with regulations and

assure cost-effective and timely deliveries.

 

The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure effective practices are implemented and

clearly documented. Interacting with Project Management, Finance, Planning, Purchasing and Operations to

identify and meet business requirements. The role also works closely with other STERIS partners to ensure end-to-

end supply chain execution and consistency in approach.

The shift is 9am-5pm or 8am -4pm M-F and the hourly rate is $26.

What You'll do as a Logistics Technician

  • Maintain expertise in all regulatory compliance requirements in Canada. Tariffs, and other import and export regulations and documents, duty drawback, bonded warehousing, etc. Cross functionally develops and negotiates freight lanes with carriers assuring a balanced cost and service level is maintained.
  • Responsible for being and / or establishing point of contact for Account Managers, Service Technicians and needs and complaints related to shipments. Coordinate the shipping steps between the different intermediaries.
  • Manage associated lease agreements and equipment needs. Drive and support continuous improvement. Assist and communicate in root cause analysis for problem reconciliation and involve all stakeholders in process.
  •  Initiating new distribution centres, rolling out comprehensive plans, switching over current client functions, and introducing new client operations
  •  Oversee projects from determining requirements to shaping the scope, arranging, and monitoring for successful delivery and services.
  • Verifies the orders to be prepared and creates the transport and shipping documents; ensuring the accuracy of the data received.
  • Foster and uphold robust, confidence-building connections with the team and stakeholders. Communicates order information to relevant stakeholders.
  •  Handle numerous projects and associated deadlines concurrently.
  •  Exercise control over projects through systematic analysis, planning, assessment, and reporting.
  •  All other duties as assigned.

Education Degree

Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years combined dangerous goods compliance and import/export brokerage
  • experience required.
  •  Healthcare, Life Sciences, medical device or other manufacturing in a regulated
  • environment experience preferred.
  • Proficient using Microsoft office suite, MRP, and other automation software and programs. Oracle preferred. 
  •  Results driven, innovative, creative and action-oriented; able to align and energize teams behind common objectives in a non-reporting structure; with matrixed ties. 
  •  Demonstrate critical thinking and decision-making skills and have the ability to solve complex problems and think innovatively in creating results for the company.

Pay range for this opportunity is $26.05 - $33.72. [ACTION REQUIRED - REMOVE IF NOT APPLICABLE:] This position is eligible for bonus participation, with an annual bonus opportunity of [ENTER PERCENTAGE]% of your fiscal year compensation, subject to the Bonus Plan’s terms and conditions.
