Position Summary

This role would support both product management and technical services in producing technical content for our Customers and for internal use in developing training materials,  competitive intelligence and growth strategies. The Technical Services Marketing Content Specialist would participate in researching industry regulations and technical topics, writing and/or editing publications developed by the technical services team. This position would also manage the rolling two-year extensive review of all our technical literature.


  • Performs market, regulatory and competitive research under the direction of Marketing and Technical Services leads.
  • Creates written summaries of research topic to be incorporated into briefs to senior leadership, Sales, Marketing and Technical Services.
  • Manages the bi-annual literature review process within the Technical Services team. Provides the first level editorial review for existing and new literature projects. 
  • Develops material for the technical library through working with Marketing, Technical Support, Marcomm and outside vendors on an ongoing basis.

B.S. in scientific or technical field e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering is desired.  A bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications would be considered if combined with work experience in a technical industry or experience requiring extensive technical writing. 

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years experience with technical documentation research and writing in a regulated industry e.g. Pharmaceutical, Medical device, or related.
  • 3-5 years experience in editing technical documents.
  • 3-5 years experience in the technical writing or publishing area; or strong written communication skills as evidenced by prior publications or publishing positions

Skills and Competencies

  • Skilled at conducting research (data mining) from various databases, search engines and websites, e.g. Excel, PDA, IEST, competitor’s sites.
  • Comfort with technical terms relating to regulatory functions and chemicals.
  • Familiarity with marketing activities and terminology related to marketing functions e.g. market size, share, buyer persona etc.
  • Strong research skills and familiarity with the regulations of the LS industry and prior position in LS preferred
  • Excellent writing skills and strong experience us Microsoft Suite programs,  e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel,  Adobe, produce high quality documents.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing in multiple styles and for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to handle short-term deliverable timeframes and manage longer term project milestones.
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
