The Role

Are you interested in joining a team that offers technical consultation and education to manufacturers in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors? Bring your expertise to STERIS as a Technical Services Lab Associate. In this role, you will support customers and the sales team by assisting with data collection, lab testing, record maintenance, report preparation, and the daily operations of the lab.

What You'll do as a Technical Service Associate:

  • Experiment Design and Data Collection: Participate in designing experiments and conducting tests using established procedures to gather data for laboratory evaluations. Collaborate with a Senior Associate or Specialist to interpret results and plan subsequent experiments. Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and offer recommendations based on findings.
  • Customer Support: Under the guidance of a Specialist or Manager, provide telephone and written support, literature, lab analysis, and assistance with field trials to customers in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors, as well as the sales team. Handle tasks related to product applications, ensuring correct usage, and providing background information or analytical support. 
  • Lab Operations: Assist with daily laboratory operations, including maintaining quality control records and documenting standard operating procedures for lab maintenance and equipment operation. Coordinate the receipt, distribution, and storage of laboratory supplies.
  • Technical Support Coordination: Help generate, update, and manage technical support data for the product line.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to government regulations by implementing safety policies and procedures.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience of laboratory experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer Orientation: Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively source technical information as needed.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrates strong organizational abilities, sound judgment, and analytical thinking.
  • Team Contribution: Actively participates in team efforts by adhering to the STERIS Code of Business Conduct and supporting management directives, while also completing assigned tasks.
  • Confidentiality: Safeguards company confidential information by properly managing its storage, retrieval, and dissemination to authorized personnel only.
