The Role

 

The Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance programs and processes of the Maplewood, MO plant to ensure timely and effective production. This role coordinates with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation. The Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Supervisor oversees the facilities design and inspection, equipment repair, and installation.

What You Will Do

  • Provide expert knowledge, instruction, and oversight to the maintenance team; estimate and oversee maintenance related activities, and support maintenance staff.
  •  Oversee facilities design and inspection, and equipment repair and installation.                                                                                                        
  • Train and guide Technicians during the introduction of new production items.
  • Assist with training Maintenance personnel to ensure adherence to Company and department policies and procedures.                                                                                                                 
  • Lead work of various technicians: ensure production lines are running, fill in for employee breaks as needed, troubleshoot minor problems with equipment and parts, provide all tracked information (counts, scrap, etc.), provide input regarding employee merit, disciplinary actions, etc.; and recommend process improvements/changes.

 

What You Will Also Do

  • Measure PM rates and utilization times with proper documentation to management.
  • Maintain the Maintenance Work Order system and generate work orders for all maintenance requests for the machinery, facilities, or equipment.                                                                                                            
  • Maintain an orderly inventory of parts and tools and as needed, work with outside vendors to acquire competitive bids for equipment, materials, and supplies.                                                                                                                                                            
  • Ensure the assigned work group completes all projects, assignments, and duties as directed and instructed.
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts with people on the team as well as all other levels of the organization

What You Will Need to Be Successful

  • Associate degree and 4 years of relevant experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing and facilities equipment, or High School Diploma / GED and 8 years of relevant experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing and facilities equipment. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous supervisory / team lead experience is required.
  • Communication skills to write routine reports, and to present /communicate effectively before groups of Customers and employees and with team members.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Technical experience in a mechanical/machining environment is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with mills and lathes preferred. 
  • Experience with Maintenance workorder software (Maintimizer or other similar applications), preferred.
  • Advanced PLC programming, robotics, and electrical certifications (preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Skills

  • Attention to detail.
  • Must be able to read blueprints or schematics and to follow procedures. 
  • Basic HVAC, electromechanical /electrical equipment maintenance skills.
  • Problem-solving and evaluation skills. 
  • Scheduling and planning skills.

Work Environment

  • 10% office environment and 90% manufacturing environment
  • Occasional weekend hours based on business needs
