Senior Master Planner

The Senior Master Planner in our St. Louis, MO facility controls and manages millions of dollars of inventory and shipments by properly scheduling and analyzing products derived from market forecasts, customer orders, and trend analysis and inputs these requirements into the planning system. The position entails developing weekly production requirements and releasing work orders, scheduling sales orders, interfacing with customer service, sales professionals, purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing to meet customer expectations.
What you’ll do as a Senior Master Planner:
- Formulate the master production plan that best meets market forecasts, inventory objectives, and customer requirements based on value stream constraints
- Load MRP based on agreed-upon build plan driving site-level inventory spend.
- Escalate build interruptions for resolution to ensure excellent customer service.
- Schedule sales orders in Oracle to availability, SSQ lead-time and to best meet customer’s requirements
- Work with Customer Sales Support to resolve scheduling issues and with Manufacturing to resolve any Purchasing and Production issues.
- Resolve daily MRP problems, including identifying product structure problems, input, and other errors.
- Participate in new product implementation and handle Phase-In/phase-out planning for their products, which will assist in minimizing obsolete inventory and providing a smooth, timely product implementation.
- Monitor and report production schedule planning and manufacturing accuracy.
- Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions to support master planning
- Constantly maintain, evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements in material requirements planning (MRP) to drive down inventory levels
- Maintain and develop standard work as needed, train team members, and serve as a point of escalation when required.
- Provides inputs to demand planning on shipment schedules, plans, and forecasts based on capacity. (S&OP process).
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field, and 5 years of planning experience
- HS diploma or GED and 13 years of supply chain experience, including planning experience, in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with material requirements planning (MRP) and Master planning.
Preferred
- Certification in related field (APICS) preferred.
- MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- Experience in Lean manufacturing environment preferred.
- Skills in Microsoft Excel and Oracle experience preferred
