Position Summary
As an Installation Project Manager at STERIS, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, developing, revising, coordinating and implementing packaging structures for all products under the authority of STERIS St. Louis Operations. Products packaged on-site include aseptically filled, hazardous, and non-hazardous materials. You will identify and propose advanced packaging technologies to better satisfy internal and external customer needs. You will identify and implement ,as approved, packaging development process improvements to increase functional area deliverables. You will also investigate and resolve package problems and complaints, and support the interface between packaging and package production equipment to ensure successful packaging implementation and production operations.
What you'll do as a Packaging Engineer
- Assist with the design, development, and implementation of effective, creative, cost appropriate packaging’s that are consistent with the objectives of allassociated STERIS functional groups, such as Marketing, Product Development, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Quality Systems, Engineering, andPurchasing. Packagings must comply with hazardous materials transportation, FDA, EPA, cGMP, and ISO regulations and guidelines.
- Assist with the Identification, support, and implementation of packaging solutions for new product introductions, cost reductions, component and processimprovements, regulatory compliance, and problem and complaint resolution.
- Write and update test protocols, SOPs, and component specifications.
- Assist with the implementation, coordination, evaluation, and testing of new and revised packaging components.
- Make package change recommendations and develop component specifications based on test results.
- Maintain all test records in an orderly, readily retrievable format.
- Implement, coordinate, and/or supervise applicable UN design qualification testing, periodicre-testing, and, as applicable, production testing.
- Daily individual and team contact with internal STERIS and external vendor personnel. Typical contacts include site Directors, Managers, Project managersand individual contributors in many functional areas, such as Marketing, Product Development, Purchasing, Quality Systems, Manufacturing, Maintenance,Packaging Development, contract packagers, and packaging manufacturers.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Four years engineering packaging/materials experience
- Creativity and excellent skills in written and verbal communication
Preferred:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry with a knowledge of aseptic packaging technology and materials is desired

Pay range for this opportunity is $78,200.00 - $101,200.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
