Position Summary:
This is a skilled position requiring advanced knowledge of boiler, HVAC, electrical distribution, control systems maintenance, industrial mechanical skills, pipefitting, and a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks in the plant or on the premises.
Location: 7405 Page Ave St. Louis, MO
Hours: 2pm - 10:30pm Monday - Friday (overtime as needed)
*Training will be on split shift for the first 2 weeks. Hours sibject to change based on the Union bid system.
Pay: $36.41 + $0.75 Shift Differential + bonus (bi-weekly pay schedule)
Hire: Direct, Full Time
What You'll Do:
- Perform various types of welding operations required for repair and/or installation of
equipment. - Under the direction of the supervisor, must be capable of operating the Storeroom by assisting in the
following areas:- Receive parts, tools, labels, and supplies into the Storeroom and check against the purchase order for
accuracy of receipt. - Maintain stock inventory by entering required information, maintain bin cards, storeroom requisitions, and
employee issue files as required. - Generate purchase requisitions as required and forward to the appropriate authority for approval.
- Maintain written and/or electronic records as required by management (i.e. cGMP and ISO procedures).
- Keep storeroom area, equipment, and surrounding work area clean at all times.
- Receive parts, tools, labels, and supplies into the Storeroom and check against the purchase order for
- Exercise extreme caution in order to not damage other material or property while operating moving equipment and must at all times exercise extreme caution for the safety of other employees.
- Comply fully with all hazardous permitted procedures, including but not limited to, lockout/tagout, confined space entry or fall protection.
- When required for maintenance or repair activities, is responsible for removing accumulated hazardous wastes from affected area and for transporting such wastes to the hazardous waste storage area.
- Stock all maintenance inventory and production supplies.
- Work in all areas of industrial maintenance performing a variety of construction and repair tasks.
- Uphold good safety record and troubleshooting skills.
Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
Required:
- Five (5) plus years of industrial plant maintenance experience required, working in a particular craft or multi-craft position.
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Associates degree in Industrial Technology or Industrial Maintenance required
- Will accept 10 years’ relevant experience in lieu of Associates Degree.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety warning labels, machine instruction manuals and schematics.
- Basic math, writing and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing advanced maintenance functions in a safe manner, including but not limited to the following:
- Industrial electronics, welding, pipe fitting, carpentry, shop machine operation, pump repair, HVAC. (May be either from education or experience)
- Must be able to perform basic rescue and life-saving functions when serving as safety backup.
- Company provides CPR training/certification - must be willing abd able to comply.
Preferred:
- Stationary Engineering Certification (Boiler Certification).
- HVAC Certification.
- Exceptional repair, troubleshooting and/or mechanical skills related to Boilers, HVAC Systems, Lathe, Fabrication and/or similar equipment.
- Expereince working cross-functionally with diverse teams.
- Previous experience with Instrumentation Controls.
Other:
- Reliable, good communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate and coordinate efforts with people from all levels of the organization.
- Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to access all parts of all production equipment, including, but not limited to the following:
- Confined spaces; ceiling mounted equipment; equipment in pits, machines that must be climbed, crawled under, or otherwise entered with limited access.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- May be expected to move, carry and lift approximately 70 pounds.
- May be expected to climb heights of approximately 30 feet.
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, as required.
- Equipment listed below may be used as needed to assist in these Required Competencies:
- Forklift, scissor lift, all shop equipment, power tools, various welders, hoists.
- Ability to climb ladders and narrow stairs safely.

Pay rate for this opportunity is $36.41/hour. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
