Summary

 

The field service engineer will provide engineering expertise and technical support for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on various mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic medical equipment. Involvement in diagnose and troubleshooting software and hardware problems; and installation of application and programs. Responsible for resolving network issues, configurating operating system and using remote connections in providing IT solutions. Support direct business and Asia-Pacific Dealer Service for all STERIS Healthcare products when required. This position reports to Service Manager, Singapore.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

1.   Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and provide technical support as required on STERIS and related product lines.  This includes software, operating system, network, hardware and application.

 

2.   Diagnose and troubleshoot, repair, installation of medical equipment and related software and application.

 

3.   Representing in presenting effective IT solutions to meet client’s requirement.

 

4.   Manage client’s IT infrastructures. Implementation and configuration of Network, Firewall, Servers and IT security solutions.

 

5.   Working on operating system, Server virtualization, server builds, LAN administration, LAN server center operations.

 

6.   Provide IT support including system diagnostic & monitoring and performing server health check.

 

7.   Perform administrative duties as assigned to ensure effective planning, utilization, and required task completion.  This includes but is not limited to:  plan daily and weekly schedule to achieve optimum utilization, provide schedule to Service Manager; communicate schedule changes to the Customer Service Department or Service Manager daily; and maintain tools and parts inventory to prescribed levels as required by Service Manager.

 

8.   Maintain a working relationship with the commercial team and Service Manager to advise of activity/changes related to sales opportunities in assigned territory.

 

9.   Develop and maintain effective, communicative relationships with customers, managers, support functions and the sales and dealer organization. Utilize provided product and industry knowledge to ensure customer’s expectations of service are exceeded.  Actively seek continuing education opportunities.

 

10.   Respond to routine customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance.  At the Service Manager’s discretion, provide on-site support to the sales and dealers organization, limited to identifying opportunities, sizing, and utility requirements. 

 

11.   Utilize customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities and abide by all Health & Safety protocols.

 

12.   Conduct Dealer Service Training and End User training when required

 

13.   Provide Technical Support to Asia Pacific dealers through email, telephone and on-site support when required.

 

14.   Other duties as assigned.

Education/License Requirements

  • Technical Certificate/Engineering Diploma/Degree or equivalent. Completion of electronics engineering, computer science, information technology or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of one to three year’s experience in a related field of work with technical school or Polytechnic training.
  • Good knowledge and experience in implementation of Network Servers, networking devices, Firewalls, VPN and wireless technology.
  • Technical skill and working knowledge of SQL, Windows Server 2012R and above, IIS 8, LDAP and LAN/WAN
  • Good computer knowledge of networking of two & three tier configurations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional Customer service in a business environment.
  • Good team player and is analytical and a problem solver.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management.
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft applications, intranet, and reporting tools.
  • Must have a valid driver license with minimal moving violations.

Working Conditions

  • Extensive travel to customer sites and inclusive in APAC region if required, but are not limited to: hospitals, operating rooms, and other facilities.  Maybe subjected to customer drug testing, customer specific safety training, or customer SOP training.  Flexible scheduling may be required to accommodate customer needs.
