Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate handling, movement, and documentation of materials within a production facility, ensuring compliance with company and federal standards while supporting manufacturing and distribution operations. 

Duties

  • Unloads trucks and delivers inventory to designated stock locations. Physically moves parts and records them in the ORACLE system through receiving transactions.
  • Prepares transactions for sales orders and gathers the required inventory for shipment. Submits all transactions into the ORACLE system.
  • Selects materials according to printed picklists for work orders. Completes ORACLE transactions to issue materials, including any necessary adjustments.
  • Stocks completed sub-assemblies and accepted purchased parts in their designated areas.
  • Packs materials shipped from the Distribution Center and completes the shipping authority log following established procedures.
  • Performs cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Assists the Team Leader or Supervisor in researching and resolving discrepancies in inventory data.
  • Ensures all material movement (shipping, receiving, and storage) meets Company and Federal standards. Rejects non-conforming parts and completes a Non-Conformance Report (NCR) when required.

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • Effective communication and instructional comprehension.
  • Must be able to perform basic math and count accurately.
  • Must obtain forklift certification through a STERIS-approved trainer upon hire.
  • Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing duties, responsibilities, and stressful deadlines.

Preferred Experience

  • Ability to read and understand work orders or job instructions in English.
  • One to two years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of inventory systems.
  • Forklift truck license is a plus.

  • Communication:  Ability to read, understand and communicate oral and written instruction. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to carry out provided instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving materials and equipment variation while maintaining quality expectations.  Ability to identify and trouble shoot problems.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively and collaboratively with other employees.
  • Adaptability: Respond to changing duties and responsibilities as needed.

Compensation for this role is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
