Our Healthcare Customers are federally mandated (by Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services or CMS) requiring vendors to have the COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption.  There are select Customers who do not accept any exceptions. Unvaccinated Associates may be excluded from working at a Customer site, require routine testing with an approved exemption (if accepted by the Customer) or have limited Customer access impacting their ability to remain employed. Additionally, we may be required to meet state mandates on COVID-19 vaccination, exemptions and/or booster requirements. This position is a Customer-facing role that falls under a state or CMS mandate.

The Role

Take your passion for science to new places. Not only will you design and conduct experiments, you’ll apply your technical learning in a complex business environment. As a Senior Technical Services Associate, you will design and execute specialized studies to generate technical information to support and facilitate validation of Life Sciences consumables in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry.  You will participate in the development and administration of training programs, and provides support to R&D, product marketing, Customers and account managers on product technology and application.

What You Will Do

  • Designs, conducts, and oversees experiments, working independently to interpret data and determine further experiments.  Identifies areas for improvement to methods and designs and validates new testing methods.  Maintains records, prepares reports, provides recommendations, and makes presentations at internal and external meetings. 
  • Under general guidance of the manager, provides telephone support, written correspondence, literature, lab analysis, and analytical support, to Customers in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry, and the sales organization. Performs assigned tasks related to product applications, correct use of product or providing background information or analytical support.
  • Assists with training, developing and delivering training materials as required. Evaluates performance of new and junior Technical Service associates and provides structures feedback and recommendations to manager or supervisor.
  • Assists in daily lab operations duties including maintenance of quality control records, writing standard operating procedures for lab maintenance, equipment operations and maintenance of systems. Assists in maintaining lab inventory.
  • Assists in generating, updating, and coordinating technical support data for the product line
  • Supports compliance with government regulations by applying safety policies and procedures

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science

What you Need To Be Successful

  • Minimum three to five years related experience.
  • Analytical Chemistry background desirable
  • Practical working knowledge of FDA GLP and GMP requirements; microbial or cleaning validation practices, and working knowledge of HPLC, TOC swab recovery and residue limit strategies employed in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Excel, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong Customer and service orientation with ability to effectively utilize resources for technical information as needed.
  • Demonstrates solid organizational skills, good judgment, and ability to think analytically
  • Contributes in a team effort by performing according to the STERIS Code of Business Conduct, and other directives; supporting the directives and decisions of higher-level management; accomplishing other duties as assigned.
  • Protects company confidential information by properly storing, retrieving and disseminating such information only to those authorized.
