Position Summary

This is a lead technical role supporting automated and semi-automated projects based on company needs and opportunities to improve processes and equipment. The lead technician integrates comfortably into a highly dynamic production environment where priorities can change quickly. Continuously maintains positive interactions while working on equipment with operators and operations management.  The technician will design, troubleshoot, and repair all work on industrial controls, wiring and programming of PLC’s.  This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, electrical repairs and troubleshooting complex electromechanical issues.

 

Duties

  • Performs installation, building, testing, calibrating, and maintenance of electrical components of a variety of production assemblies and plant related equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance supporting production operations
  • Gives support to operations leadership to accomplish critical maintenance tasks
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots production equipment issues
  • Improve the performance of automated cells and equipment
  • Plans and wires electrical controls
  • Programs PLC’s and process and motor control equipment
  • Updates control circuits and systems
  • Maintains and updates equipment manuals, component software and parameter profiles
  • Maintains and updates Energy Control Plans
  • Use of general hand and power tools to perform general assembly tasks not related to electrical
  • Develop training programs for new and existing automation equipment
  • Identifies, specifies components or equipment based on automation requirements
  • Identify opportunities for maintenance and process improvements with supporting recommendations
  • Planning, supervising and working with outside contractors as needed to support product automation development and repair\upgrade older machines
  • Supports all company safety and quality programs

Education Degree

Vocational/Technical

Required Experience

  • Plan and wire control circuits - 3+ years
  • Program & set parameters for PLC’s and process control equipment - 3+ years
  • Electromechanical troubleshooting - 5+ years
  • Electrical schematic reading - 5+ years
