Position Summary

The Global Logistics Specialist is a critical role that leads and functionally executes the daily actions required to assure all outbound shipments are processed, labeled, documented and routed compliantly and correctly per all USDOT, IATA or other regulation. To assure team continuity across all warehouse operations, this position may also be required to learn, perform, and / or be certified to assist within other areas of Warehouse Operations including Distribution, Material & Inventory, or others as assigned.

The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure timeliness of shipment, accuracy of routing, billing and ERP transactions are complete. Interacting with Purchasing, Planning, Distribution, Operations, Customer Service, and external carriers to identify and meet business requirements. The role also works closely with these business partners to identify best practices and address challenges timely and appropriately

Duties

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the logistics team members as it relates to day to day and situational requirements
  • Complete transactions to assure ERP accuracy and billing of sales orders is timely and accurate
  • Complete freight bill coding as required
  • Manage exception reporting for multiple carriers to assure correct PRO/BOL and shipment information
  • Complete and maintain all required compliance and DG certifications as required
  • Act as internal subject matter expert for all logistics compliance requirements including import / export, tariff, CI, SLI’s and other required regulations and document creation.
    • internally educate and train Logistics, Distribution, and other team members as assigned
  • Schedule and Coordinate LTL, TL, LCL and Container shipments with appropriate carriers at the global level

  • Work directly with carriers, 3PL suppliers and fleets for order / BOL corrections and changes as required
  • Assist with collection of data and quoting as needed for global sales
  • Review and manage shipment reporting to assure daily, weekly, and monthly targets are hit and tasks required are completed
  • Complete shipment auditing to assure all shipments follow all regulations including paperwork, labeling, placarding, and other
  • Execute to global regulations and control management related to both import and export in tariff, Schedule B and other as required by geographies
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Assist leadership in the development of improvement strategies and execution plans
  • Follow all provided control procedures and policies to complete tasks
  • Maintain and engage in promotion of a safe work environment

Education Degree

High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • High School graduate, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 years related disciplines experience required, 6 Years Logistics, Shipping, Distribution and / or Warehouse Operations experience preferred
  • Previous forklift experience (counterbalance, stock picker, reach truck) preferred
  • General proficiencies in Microsoft Office and ERP required (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to continually meet all ADA factors as detailed within this job description
