This position is a Customer-facing role that falls under a state or CMS mandate.

Position Summary

Oversees the management of Educators for the STERIS Instrument Processing Offsite Reprocessing Centers (ORC). Ensures Customer’s expectations are met by managing activities and complying with contractual obligations.  Provides support, education, training, and communication to educators and updates ORC management team on employee development.   Ensures SPD compliance with the Department of Health, DNV, OSHA, CDC, DNV, AAMI and AORN standards and facility policies and procedures. This is an experienced leadership and professional subject matter expert. This role requires management experience and a high-level of communication. Potential to support and work alongside all instrument processing solutions to include but not limited to continuous improvement, offsite reprocessing centers and/or outsourced engagements. Domestic travel up to 75% required. 


1.    Participates in setting and managing department objectives to support IP division objectives and goals to improve Customer Experience, Employee Experience, Continuous Improvement, and Profitable Growth. 
2.    Partners with IP Leadership and Business Development to develop Customer facing Education and Training proposals, successfully win Customer extensions, and successfully meet Customer expectations.
3.    Demonstrates complete understanding of the Instrument Processing Solutions’ processes and the ability to manage, train and implement in a contracted facility.
4.    Develops and enforces the implementation of policies, new processes, procedures, product conversions, new services, and programs in conjunction with the contract and STERIS to improve client service.
5.    Conducts meetings with STERIS education team on a regular basis to communicate timely updates of project objectives and resolve any barriers.  
6.    Interviews, hires, onboards, assists with training, and coaches employees to meet company objectives and customer requirements. 
7.    Manages PTO schedules across the nation to ensure coverage for all ORC sites.
8.    Analyzes turnover and exit interview data to develop and implement retention strategies.
9.    Coordinates with the Education management team to track and manage the performance of all educators across the US to ensure all educators are meeting Customer and field management expectations. Actions on performance shortcomings. 
10.    Maintains professional relationships with key contracted facilities departments, as necessary and within contractual guidelines, to ensure effective, efficient support as it relates to the scope of the contract. Resolves client issues in a timely and efficient manner. Ensures proper STERIS education and training coverage at the facility.
11.    Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of the facility contract and the project implementation plan.    
12.    Ensure Educators are fulfilling the necessary responsibility of accounts, and goal setting based on contract deliverables which may include auditing and reviewing weekly reporting agendas, documentation, and providing guidance and promote customer service to all team members 
13.    Completes Education Manager documents and team audits of training records, employee education files and documentation of competency skill level.
14.    Support Offsite Reprocessing Center with compliance and maintenance for DNV certification, ISO 9001 Certification, vendor program quality requirements, and STERIS Quality Management Systems.

Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

1.    Bachelor’s Degree Required and 4+ years education/training experience, or high school diploma and 12+ years of education/training experience
2.    5+ years Sterile Processing experience
3.    5+ year Leadership, management, or consulting experience
4.    CRCST (HSPA) or CSPDT (CBSPD) certification required 
5.    CER (HSPA) or CFER (CBSPD) certification required 
6.    CIS (HSPA) or CSIS (CBSPD) certification required within 6 months of hire or promotion
7.    CHL (IAHSCMM) or CSPM ( CBSPD) required within 6 months of hire or promotion
8.    Must take 12 Continuing Education Credit Hours each year.
a.    Must take an additional 6 Leadership Continuing Education Credit Hours each year.
9.    Must maintain valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and be available to operate a vehicle as needed to meet travel requirements.

Preferred experience

1.    Master’s Degree Preferred
2.    Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Preferred
3.    Project management Certification Preferred
