Position Summary
As a Systems Engineer you are responsible for overall technical leadership and responsibility for the technical realization of a key new, or substantially evolved existing feature or feature set. In this position you will report to the Engineering Manager and will be the technical stakeholder leading the system level reviews working within the project constraints of schedule, cost, performance, quality and reliability objectives.
What You'll do as a Systems Engineer I
- Plan, oversee and execute the Systems Engineering activities in the project, including Initiation, coordination, synchronization, review and integration of the technical work performed within various Engineering disciplines
- Lead the preparation of design and product documentation, including configuration documentation
- Drive refinement/ translation of stakeholder requirements (Customer, safety, reliability, clinical, serviceability, manufacturability, quality etc.), requirements management policies of the program and quality of requirements, development of technical approach, top level design, feasibility of potential technical solutions, and allocation of derived requirements (including functionality, interface specifications and design budgets) onto affected subsystems
- Work on complex projects requiring innovative solutions. May represent R&D as NPD core team member. May plan subtasks/small projects
- Define testing requirements and strategy and drive formal verification & validation
- Perform analyses and resolve issues using problem solving techniques to develop new and innovative solutions for our Customers.
- Understand customer environment and associated use cases and translate them into design inputs.
- Lead cross-discipline feasibility and tradeoff studies. Assess the overall technical project risks that pose the various sub-systems while proceeding in the different phases of the project.
- Work independently with minimal supervision on routine activities. Receive guidance on unusual/complex issues and approval on plans and larger scale designs.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum 1 year experience in Systems Engineering
- Fluent in French, English language level: Advanced
- Excellent communication, influencing and conflict management skills
- Ability to propose methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to realize product functionality
Preferred:
- Six Sigma training (preferred)
