Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Designer, where your expertise and creativity will have a direct impact on the quality and performance of our products.

What You'll Do As a Mechanical Designer II

  • Apply internal procedures and external quality standards;
  • Select and / or design parts or a subset of parts using a computer-aided design (CAO);
  • Lead or participate in investigation and problem-solving activities;
  • Obtain the technical specifications of their parts from suppliers and ensure that they meet the requirements of STERIS;
  • Carry out the following technical drawings: parts or sub-assembly of parts, plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, workshop plans, manufacturing plans, assembly plans, service plans, illustrations;
  • Design a portion of the system under the alignment of an engineer;
  • Enter or provide required information in MRP and PLM systems: part creation, product bill of materials, engineering change requests, etc.;
  • Support production staff and suppliers when required;
  • Make all the components of a prototype (doors, pumps, tanks, cabinets, plumbing, pneumatics) and make the necessary adjustments to their installation / operation in accordance with verbal or written directives;
  • Contribute to various continuous improvement initiatives within the department;
  • Apply DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) principles.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  • DEC / Associate Degree in Mechanical engineering
  • 6-9 years of relevant experience in a related field.
  • Experience with use of PTC Creo (preferred)
  • At ease preparing documentation using MS Word, MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • English 7/12 (Write mandatory, Talk preferred)
