Senior Automation Tester

Position Summary

The Senior Automation Tester is responsible for supporting & carrying out testing activities for the quality assurance stages of software development and deployment. This position will be responsible for conducting manual and automated tests using automation testing tool like Cypress or Selenium to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose. Software testing involves the analysis of software, and systems, to avert risk and prevent software issues. Software testers are employed to find bugs and issues within a product before it gets deployed to everyday users. The software tester is responsible for creating, documenting, and executing test plans, including new enhancements, improvements, and corrections (aka: bug fixes). This includes hands-on testing as well as creating, supporting, maintaining, or enhancing automated tests. The software tester is involved in the full project life cycle while working with an agile team to take requirements through design, development, QA, and implementation. The software tester should have functional knowledge of an ecommerce solution.

Duties

• Develop Automated test Scripts from scratch.
• Executing automated test scripts using automation testing tool like Cypress, Selenium, Playwright.
• Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios.
• Build test automation framework.
• Writing and executing functional test scripts (Both Automated and Manual)
• Perform unit, system and integration testing and participate in capacity / performance testing of an application.
• Running manual and automated tests in different environments including web and mobile
• Executing test cases on multiple browsers and OS
• Design test scenarios, scripts, need to perform regression testing, negative testing, retests, and usability.
• Writing bug reports
• Document defects in bug tracking applications (like JIRA etc.)
• Identify, analyse, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
• Develop automation test scripts using Cypress, Selenium-Web driver, or Playwright.
• Participate in Scrum meetings provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
• Troubleshoot root cause of the issues then report to respective team members.
• Participate in project planning sessions with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Technical Analysts and development team members to analyse business / technology requirements and outline the proposed technology solution.
• Excellent communication skills and writing skills (for Documents and test reports)
• Cypress knowledge will be an added advantage.

Education Degree

Required Experience

• Strong experience testing Salesforce clouds
• 7+ years relevant experience
• 4+ years of experience in Automation testing
• 3+ years of experience in testing Salesforce
• Strong knowledge of creating and executing Automation test scripts using Cypress or Selenium
• Hands on experience in setting up the Automation test environment.
• Hands on experience in building test automation framework.
• Familiarity with software testing lifecycle (STLC)
• Experience of testing web applications
• Knowledge of responsive testing
• Experience is testing integrations, API, webservices etc.
• Working knowledge of functional, GUI, Performance and Regression testing.
• Strong knowledge of QA procedures, principles, and tools.
• Strong verbal and written (technical) communication skills to explain bugs and other issues identified and produce bug reports, documentation, and feedback to both product owners and software developers.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience working with an agile/scrum team is a plus.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company data.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines on various projects simultaneously
