Senior Quality Assurance Tester

Position Summary
The role of a senior QA reflects a longer tenure as a tester as well as greater understanding of the tenets of testing and of the software(s) we, as a team, support. This role not only implies a greater skill set but also that the person with this title is a supportive aspect of the team. Equally capable of moving onto a variety of projects as they are mentoring and supporting members of the QA team and wider teams we interact with.
What you'll do as a Senior Quality Assurance Tester
Engaging with Standard QA Processes* such as: Planning sessions, recording test plans, performing tests and checks on the software, recording findings, raising bug reports, liaising with development teams to resolve and explain issues, advocating for excellent overall user experience and performing QA investigations
* This list is not exhaustive and may require additional duties from lower roles.
- Support the team leads in maintaining and running processes and supporting the team, maintaining and creating interview tests/ required media and mentoring new additions to the team. (Being a contact point, explaining system features, team processes etc.)
- Facilitating non-team triage(s).
- Be a representative of and spokesperson for the QA team within meetings without teams, especially with external parties/groups. In addition to being an official QA liaison to another team (e.g., Tech support).
- Responsible for organizing and following up on take aways and tasks from QA retro. Chasing up agreed actions and next steps.
- Assisting testing of other teams, working on any and all projects that need QA assistance across teams and potentially outside of ‘standard’ software streams. Running through Briefings/Debriefings of Test Charters.
- Explore root causes of bugs and provide more detail in bugs to better aid development and future testing of any resolution to the issue.
- Advocate for the test teams needs and how they benefit the software.
- Highlighting the nuance of system usage and impacts of software complexities withing project planning.
- Advocating for Continuous Improvement within the team and be responsible for maintaining at least one of the teams CI processes.
The Experience, Abilities and Skills Needed
- Bachelor's Degree
- Must have 5 years of relevant experience
- Must have good Microsoft Office skills
- Computer literate/tech savvy
- Attention to detail
- Must have good Maths and Literacy skills.
- Able to work independently to a greater level. Able to fluidly move onto projects that need support as needed and understand what test support is needed and how to facilitate that support. Can be relied upon to work on and with more sensitive or demanding projects
- Greater understating of varied testing methodologies and when they can be best applied
- At least 3 years software testing experience preferably in a health care solution environment
- Has a broad understanding of at least one of our software solutions
- Have better informed knowledge of system quirks and unique use cases. Knowledge of more complex and vulnerable areas of the systems that will need more attention or nuance within the testing framework
- A deeper business /customer knowledge and a demonstratable and deeper understanding of Testing Theory

Pay range for this opportunity is $80,000.00 - $112,087.50. This position is eligible for [BONUS PARTICIPATION] OR a [INSERT COMMISSION RATE RANGE, IF APPLICABLE] commission.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
