Position Summary

JOIN us in our efforts as a Senior Software Engineer

Responsible for the architecture, design and development of C#/ WPF user interface-based AV systems and applications with multiple hardware platforms. Performs analyses and resolve issues using problem solving techniques to develop new and innovative solutions for customers. Responsible for the development and delivery of specific software features/functionality. Responsible for the software development efforts for a project to include task assignments to a development team and delivery on a project. Analyzes product/system-level requirements and translates them into software specifications. Determines technical feasibility of new product features. Works closely with firmware and hardware engineers working on a variety of products including Video Recording, Conferencing and Streaming user experience.

Essential Job Duties

  • Perform continuous code quality management, including debug, unit test, functional test, peer reviews, formal verification tools.
  • Responsible for initial design and development of new software or extensive software revisions.
  • Define product requirements and create high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms.
  • Identify the appropriate software architecture based on the requirements and design elements contained in a system specification.
  • Record software architecture in a software architecture document using use cases and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Maintain and evolve software architecture documents based on evolving system requirements and industry trends and technologies.
  • Analyze risk and report problems in meeting system requirements.
  • Provide supporting information to the Engineers to aid in the creation of a system specification. 
  • Participate in the system specification review process to ensure system requirements can be translated into valid software architecture
  • Comply with all applicable product development processes. Perform detailed software design as well as implements and/or maintains code according to duties and responsibilities
  • Ensure the overall integrity of the software architecture and validate it against the system specification

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science preferred
  • 7+ years’ software development experience
  • In-depth professional experience working with .NET/ C# and WPF, as well as JavaScript, HTML5, and WebSocket development; understanding of C++ preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of common Design Patterns such as MVC, MVVM, etc.
  • 1 year of experience developing for mobile devices and the .NET Compact Framework is also a plus.
  • Experience in User Interface (UI)/Human Machine Interface (HMI) development is required, which may include HMI touch screens or Graphical UIs.   Understanding of the usability / human factors is desired
  • Experience using software integrated development environments (IDEs) and tools to include configuration management (version control), defect management, continuous integration, and code analysis tools is desired
  • Experience with Agile development methods (such as Scrum) is a plus
