Position Summary
The Senior Shipping and Receiving Coordinator serves as the lead for all warehouse operations related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control. This role ensures the accurate and timely handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, oversees daily warehouse activities, and provides leadership and guidance to warehouse staff.
The Coordinator is responsible for the daily organization and preparation of documentation related to shipping and receiving activities, including the distribution and filing of shipping documents, creation and verification of tags, processing of inventory transactions, and release and processing of sales orders. This role also manages freight line coordination and scheduling, preparation of freight bills, and export documentation.
Additionally, the Coordinator analyzes shipping-related reports and communicates effectively with both internal departments and external customers. This position plays a key role in maintaining standard work procedures and driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools to support STERIS’ Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives.

Duties
- Lead daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise warehouse staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure productivity and safety standards are met.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage; resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for all outboard shipments.
- Process inventory transactions and sales orders accurately and efficiently in Oracle and VLM systems.
- Schedule and coordinate freight carriers, prepare freight bills and export documentation.
- Analize shipping and receiving reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Identify, participate, and implement continuous improvement activities to impact overall purchasing areas' quality, cost, and delivery initiatives.
- Development, implement and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Participate in identifying and implementing root cause and corrective action ideas.
- Prints, sorts, and distributes Sales Orders and other shipping documentation to appropriate personnel.
- File shipping documentation as required daily.
- Issuing, typing, and logging of serial numbers and tags. This includes printing the daily log, making changes due to Customer returns or conversions, and verification of correct shipments of serialized capital equipment.
- Completion of proper inventory transaction of all finished goods for sales order allocation. This procedure also includes processing orders for invoicing on Oracle systems.
- Management of Sales Order backlog report and the ability to effectively communicate with Senior Master Planner regarding sales order-related concerns on current and future shipments as well as management of expedited requests.
- Responsible for creating, measuring, reporting and disseminating shipping performance data to support SQCD measurements.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
- Performs similar and related duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Education Degree
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with domestic and international shipping regulations and documentation.
Preferred Experience
- Prior supervisory or lead role experience preferred.
- Minimum two years of College Education preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Prior Forklift Experience preferred.
Pay range for this opportunity is $22.88 - $29.61. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
