Position Summary

A Batch Builder is responsible for the critical process of building chemical batches that are fed to the downstream fill and packaging lines.  In this role the individual is responsible for following the batch building process to create batches that meet the specification while meeting the production schedule to ensure the packaging and fill lines have product to dispense.

Duties

  • Trained and proficient to the most critical/advanced processes, including those that require more technical training.
  • Able to recognize problems or quality concerns and understands the impact to product quality.  Can work independently to troubleshoot and find solutions to resolve problems that occur during the manufacturing process.
  • Has the ability to navigate the electronic systems used in operations. (Examples: SAP, Propel)
  • Cross-trained across most work cells/lines, takes advantage of opportunities to broaden their cross-training and has mastered the most critical processes.
  • Performs all the calculations necessary for determining the amount of chemical for use in a batch (sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, etc.).
  • Weighs out chemicals accurately and transfers them into the mixing tank.
  • Understands the tank farm and how all the components work (mixers, recirculation, filters, cleaning tanks and hoses, filter systems, connecting hoses, and what the top off marks are on the tanks).
  • Performs pH, hydrogen peroxide, and particulate analysis.
  • Brings pre-dispense samples to QC lab for testing
  • Assists on the packaging/fill lines as needed.

Education Degree

High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • 3- 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Willingly and proactively collaborates with others to achieve operational goals.

  • Adheres to all company and departmental safety policies and guidelines
  • Performs daily job duties in a safe manner and keeps their work area clean and organized at all times
  • Capable of following detailed assembly instructions, both written and verbal.  Complies with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements per the Quality System.
  • Performs any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.
  • Consistent ability to meet production goals for assigned processes while maintaining quality standards for the product.
  • Employee workmanship and documentation standards regularly meet all of our quality standards and GMP practices
  • Works well with others in the value stream and offers support when help is needed in a different area.
  • Consistently adheres to attendance and punctuality guidelines
