Position Summary

The Senior IT Site Administrator independently supports an entire manufacturing facility for a wide variety of systems and applications.  Occasionally acts on behalf of the IT Site Manager during extended absences. Serves as the facility technical expert. 

Deploys the release of network, telephony and data communication technologies.  Designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of operating systems, related utilities, software and hardware.  Responsible for troubleshooting technology issues as reported by users.  Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products.  Supports web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment.  Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth.  Provides first, second and third level support to the user community.

Plans and implements company standard infrastructure and manages system upgrades and migrations.

Provide primary and/or secondary support for site specific business applications.  Manufacturing experience a plus.

Provides leadership, insight, and technical experience to management within the assigned facility and Corporate technology departments.   Drives technical solutions that support short and long term business plans. Provides project management and assumes budgetary responsibilities.  Serves as a mentor, coach, and trainer to IT professionals within the department. 

May require bilingual skills for facilities located outside the United States.
 

Duties

20%   End User Technical Support (Facility Technical Expert) 
1.    Highly proficient in providing higher level technical support.  (Desktop/Software Peripherals)
2.    Builds software install packages with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 
3.    Provides security oversight to computers and physical facility security.  
4.    Installs and maintains support for networking, telephony, and data communications infrastructure.  Includes operating systems, applications and servers, e-mail systems, file and print systems, virus defense, web services, remote access, network security, voice and data communications, and voice messaging.
5.    Installs, maintains and troubleshoots Microsoft Office suite.
6.    Maintains and troubleshoots VPN remote access.
7.    Provides primary and/or secondary support for site specific business applications, either purchased or developed using standard Microsoft Office products.

40%  Infrastructure Support 
1.    Addresses higher level support and troubleshooting for Telecomm and Network. 
2.    Implements, maintains, and troubleshoots Active Directory permissions and group policies.
3.    Installs, maintains and troubleshoots Microsoft Exchange Server.
4.    Maintains infrastructure security including operating system security patches and virus defense.
5.    Installs maintains and troubleshoots Windows operating systems, software applications and patches.
6.    Installs maintains and troubleshoots Microsoft Domains and Domain controllers.
7.    Reconciles Microsoft and other software licenses.
8.    Setup and deploys applications using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or Intune.
9.    Setup and manages backup and recovery software solutions.
10.    Installs, configures, maintains, and supports physical and virtual servers.
11.    Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems with infrastructure configurations and hardware.
12.    Monitors performance, capacity and operational statistics for networking, telephony, and data communications infrastructure.
13.    Assists database administrators in troubleshooting client/server environments.  

 40% Leadership & Project Management 
1.    Provides 7 x 24 x 365 support 
2.    Conducts training for end-users.
3.    Works autonomously with less direct supervision 
4.    Partners with Corporate teams inside and outside of IT. 
5.    Tests backup options 
6.    Performs hardware and software purchasing by interfacing with vendors and accounting. 
7.    Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products.
8.    Manages quotes and delivers results (i.e. Hardware and Software) 
9.    Supports and runs projects while maintaining a budget.
10.    Provides recommendations regarding the organization’s local systems, architecture, etc.
11.    Serves as a mentor and coach to staff members on analysis and resolution
12.    Provides Lean and KPI measurements to Local and Corporate 
 

Required Experience

1.    Associates Degree and minimum of 6+ years experience within IT Service Desk, Network, Desktop, and servers
2.    Minimum of 7 years experience in a systems administration position or equivalent on the job training is required.
3.    Minimum of 5 years in system administration of Windows and Virtual Servers required. 
4.    Technical proficiency with most of the following technologies:
    Backup software (i.e. Backup Exec; VEEAM)
    Windows Server – operating system platform 
    Exchange Server – email platform
    System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 
    System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) 
    Terminal Server or Virtual Desktop Infrasturcture 
    Internet Information Server (IIS) –
    Virtual server platform (i.e. VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V)
                Clould Technologies and Deployments 

5.    Lean manufacturing experience and knowledge highly desired.

11.    Exert influence in working with other managers, system sponsors, software developers, external consulting resources, network administrators, project managers, systems administrators and engineers, database administrators, end users, directors, and vice presidents.
12.    Effectively utilize team member’s expertise and availability to ensure projects are allocated in the most efficient manner.

13.     Ability to leverage and forge effective relationships with corporate IT teams and manufacturing sites.
