Position Summary:

The Driver plays a key operational role, responsible for operating shuttles and tractors to transport trailers as needed to support warehouse functions. This role also includes loading and unloading trailers. To maintain seamless operations across the warehouse, the Driver may be required to cross-train, perform duties, or obtain certifications in other areas such as Materials & Inventory, Distribution, Traffic, or other assigned functions.

 

This position works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure timely execution, proper handling during transit, and alignment with operational requirements. Regular interaction with teams such as Distribution, Operations, and Material Control is essential to meet evolving business needs.

 

SHIFT: 2pm-10:30pm & overtime as needed

PAY: $27-30hr

What You'll do as a Senior Driver:

  • Drives company vehicle between sites moving material as instructed (tractor, shuttle, Dock Truck, Van, and/or Car may be required), obeying all local traffic and safety laws.
  • Maintains FMCSA compliance at all times including logs, paperwork, safety, and records. This also includes obtaining/maintaining DOT Hazmat endorsement.
  • Timely loads and unloads freight as required using forklift and / or other material handling equipment.
  • Protects vehicle contents from damage at all times, and ensures all loads are appropriately labelled and documented correctly.
  • Report any damage or maintenance issues to the vehicles or loads immediately.
  • Follows all provided control procedures and policies to complete tasks.
  • Fuels vehicles as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with sending and receiving sites making sure all business needs are met.
  • Communicates challenges timely and effectively bringing related improvement ideas to leadership.
  • Maintains a neat and safe work environment and engages in promotion of a safe work environment.
  • Works overtime as required to meet business needs.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • 4 years of experience in related disciplines.
  • Current, valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) for any vehicle greater than 26,000lbs.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical including drug screen as well as MVR requirements.
  • Defensive driver training as required.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Current Hazmat Certification or ability to obtain certification prior to hire.

 

Preferred:

  • Previous forklift experience (counterbalance) preferred, if none, ability to become certified required.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Current Hazmat Certification.

  • Safety sensitive position.
  • Ability to continually meet all ADA factors as detailed:
    • Lift/Carry 10-50lbs continuously 67-100% of the time
    • Lift/Carry 20-100lbs frequently 34-66% of the time
    • Climb/Sit/Stand/Walk frequently 34-66% of the time
    • Repetitive foot/leg motion, light grasping, speaking, writing, and/or keyboarding frequently 34-66% of the time
    • Hearing, sight, depth perception & operating heavy machinery continuously 67-100% of the time

Pay rate for this opportunity is $[INSERT]. This position is eligible for bonus participation. 

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
