Position Summary

Serve as a technical advisor and problem solver in applications built on Salesforce platform, like Propel and Trackwise.  To assist application teams in optimizing their use of the Salesforce product suite to successfully define, build and deploy applications.

Architect and design of scalable and highly available Salesforce based solutions via optimal and lean approach, suited for the current context.  Understand and interpret requirements, create a useful model, validate, refine, and expand the model, manage the architecture.  Analyze the fitment of Salesforce platform for the business problem, identify gaps and suggest solutions with minimum customization.

Develop the architecture artifacts and documentation to support business capabilities, high-level design, and detailed technical specification. May include modeling, building block design, applications design, systems integration, etc. Design and present design options/considerations. develop proof of concept, modeling, and planning. Establish best practices around architecture, design and development. Ensuring the completeness (fitness-for-purpose) of the architecture.

Provide any ad hoc activities related to the projects and not limited to the above activities.

Interaction with different business groups is vital within this role and requires an understanding of business processes, compliance and regulations. Professionalism and cooperation when working with Customers, team members and management is essential.




Design, Develop and Configure Systems – 60%

  1. Leads Requirements Gathering sessions to formulate and define objectives using various research and fact-finding techniques, such as story mapping, prototyping, questionnaires, surveys, interviews, sampling, observation, working sessions, and walkthroughs. This includes Business process analysis with data, people and technology considerations being addressed.
  2. Designs, configures and implements departmental I.T. technology systems.
  3. Researches, evaluates and recommends software, hardware and cloud technologies.
  4. Performs testing and evaluation, including development lab activities for new technology solutions.
  5. Interfaces with software vendors and internal accounting department to facilitate the purchase of hardware and software.
  6. Configures and installs software for systems, applications and servers including, but not limited to, server operating systems, virtual servers, virtual applications, e-mail systems, file and print systems, virus defense, web services and remote access.
  7. Configures and installs system hardware such as servers, backup systems, load balancing appliances, disk drives, storage area networks and appliances.

Project Leadership and Management - 20%

  1. Will serve as the project lead on technical projects based on the business plan.
  2. Create and submit proposals, and implement approved project plans.
  3. Develops and submits budget proposals and funding requests.



Technical Support, System Administration and Maintenance - 20%


  1. Provide technical support and maintenance of I.T. systems.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with system configurations and hardware.
  3. Provide escalation support for System Administrators.
  4. Performs system administration functions
  5. Maintain standardization and documentation of technology and processes.
  6. Develops and implements training plans to support applications as required.



Education Degree

Required Experience

  1. 7+ years in software development and design of Salesforce based applications, including high volume / transactional enterprise systems.
  2. 7+ years of experience in system design and architecture.
  3. 5+ years of experience managing enterprise Salesforce platforms with significant usage
  4. 3+ years domain experience in PLM, Quality systems.
