Position Summary
The Procurement Manager position will provide the leadership support for the site procurement activities, the Cycle Count program and will include effective material flow to sustain inventory accuracy. The position will develop and execute strategies within a lean environment concentrating on talent leadership, Customer experience, risk management and cash generation. The position will be responsible for both tactical daily execution of material procurement plan as well as longer-term site-specific sourcing strategies. This individual will focus on developing a robust supplier portfolio, enhanced supply chain agility, generating cash flow, and providing the necessary information flow for optimize material availability.
This roles requires onsite work 5 days/week at our Plymouth, MN 605 facility. This role is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship or H1B Transfer.
What You'll do as a Procurement Manager
- Drive overall sourcing initiatives to minimize stock-out risk, reduce material costs, and ensure best value continuity of supply. Ensure products and services are supplied on-time and meets our quality standards to meet Customer needs.
- Leverage and manage supplier relationships and performance.
- Lead team activities to meet Site goals for spend aggregation, and supplier consolidation, rationalization, and segmentation.
- Interface with internal and external warehouses and suppliers, to ensure proper logistics to support plant and business initiatives.
- Ensure the Demand Plan is fully supported through material and component procurement to support the manufacturing plan, Customer service, and overall site cost and productivity goals.
- Manage the requisition of all direct and indirect materials and services required to support production schedule and meet incoming quality requirements.
- Responsible for managing the site operational inventory to ensure adequate stocking levels for immediate production items and forecasting for future requirements for premier Customer service.
- Own and drive business and site working capital goals through coordination between procurement, planning and production.
- Responsible for levels of item data accuracy (item master) relating to procurement and Suppliers.
- Responsible for continuous improvements programs with suppliers.
- Provide support and direct leadership for the Inventory Control Supervisor and the assigned Cycle Count team members.
- Ensure team is fully trained and remain in compliance with the STERIS Cycle count policies and procedures, and Cycle Count program requirements.
- Support accuracy of inventory counts and physical inventories by implementing and managing, in conjunction with finance and warehousing teams, an effective Cycle Count program.
- Participates as a key member of the Plant operations team, serves as the voice of the purchasing team and supports site in making cross-functional operations decisions to meet KPI and long-term strategies.
- Lead and identify continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and reduce costs of internal procurement processes and systems.
- Analyzes inventories and develops and executes plans to balance Inventory % of Sales and optimize Customer service.
- Negotiates long-term contracts in coordination with group staff and policies.
- Supervise a team of buyers and sourcing specialist, and other associated roles.
- Ensure team compliance with STERIS policies and procedures, and government requirements.
- Provide support and direct leadership for the Inventory Control Supervisor and the assigned Cycle Count team members.
- Ensure team is fully trained and remain in compliance with the STERIS Cycle count policies and procedures, and Cycle Count program requirements
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Required
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 4 years of experience working in Supply Chain, manufacturing or related field.
- 4 years of experience in all aspects of end-to-end Supply Chain including contract negotiations, commodity-based materials management, project management and commercial analytics.
- Excellent knowledge office applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
Preferred
- 2 years of first-line supervisory experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.

Pay range for this opportunity is $113,900.00 - $140,700.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
