Position Summary

Quality Control Inspector (QCI) is responsible for conducting inspection of product (components, subassemblies, finished goods) to ensure conformance with quality standards in accordance with the company QMS. Inspection activities can include visual, dimensional, mechanical, functional, etc. inspection utilizing drawings, work instructions, and procedures. The position requires attention to detail and precision and the ability to identify and communicate nonconforming conditions. The QCI records inspection results in the ERP system or on approved QC forms and makes appropriate ERP transactions. The QCI confers with and refers major or critical inspection problems or decisions to the Lead or Supervisor for resolution, possible MRB (Material Review Board), or NCMR (Non-conforming material
report) disposition. The QCI must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute as an effective member of the Quality Assurance Team.


  1. Conducts inspection activities as assigned in accordance with Inspection Instructions / Sampling Plan.
  2. Reads production orders, specification/drawings, and work instructions for proper inspection of products. Ensures that appropriate and calibrated gages, equipment, and tools are used during inspection. *
  3. Records inspection results on inspection reports in ERP or using approved inspection report forms. *
  4. Builds and maintains knowledge of product requirements.
  5. Must be able to perform incoming, in-process, final inspection and /or final release of packaged instruments. *
  6. Makes dispositions on inspected materials. Works with Tech Lead and Manager to resolve nonconforming material issues. *
  7. Maintains safe and orderly working environment / station*
  8. Ensures proper operation of equipment.
  9. Maintains continuity among work teams.

High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  1. Metrology Skills
  2. Basic Computer Skills
  3. Effective communication skills (verbal, written, reading)
  4. Read Blueprints
  5. Basic math skills.
