Position Summary
The Director, Professional Services and Clinical Process Standards leads high‑impact initiatives that help strategic Customers optimize their reprocessing environments and achieve peak operational performance. This role provides expert guidance across STERIS Business Units, channels, and diverse Customer types while staying current on regulatory expectations, quality initiatives, systems, processes, products, services, and industry best practices that drive compliance and efficiency.
This leader manages large-scale Customer standardization and optimization projects, using data and business intelligence to identify improvement opportunities and deliver measurable outcomes. The position collaborates with Customer leadership to analyze key performance indicators and workflow data that support informed, strategic decision making.
The role requires regular travel (up to 75%) and deep expertise in sterile processing. It ensures exceptional Customer satisfaction, oversees budget responsibilities, and drives continuous improvement of solution offerings. Additional responsibilities include supporting key STERIS initiatives and contributing actively as a member of the Operations leadership team.
What you will do as Director, Professional Services and Clinical Process Standards:
- Deliver consulting expertise to healthcare executives and leaders to optimize reprocessing operations and guide long‑term strategic improvements.
- Analyze operational data, KPIs, and business intelligence to drive strategic decisions and targeted performance improvements.
- Develop actionable operational and strategic plans while partnering with cross‑functional Customer departments such as infection prevention, finance, operations, clinical leadership, supply chain, and reprocessing.
- Create and manage project charters, plans, updates, and risk mitigation strategies for Customer engagements.
- Participate in Customer and internal meetings to support project progress, enhance Customer satisfaction, and communicate Voice of Customer insights.
- Partner with STERIS IP consultants to refine assessment, process improvement, consulting, and sustainability methodologies.
- Lead performance management of Customer engagements to identify continuous improvement opportunities and ensure delivery of high‑quality solutions.
- Collaborate with IP Leadership and BD teams to shape Customer approaches and service offerings that align with market needs and revenue objectives.
- Facilitate Customer discussions during the sales process to clarify scope and expectations for contractual alignment.
- Lead enterprise-level Customer standardization and optimization projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Serve as operational liaison to approve and implement clinical and leadership standard work that supports standardization initiatives.
- Guide Customers in establishing and managing Operations Audit Programs to sustain compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate STERIS and Customer subject matter experts to ensure alignment on standards, regulations, and quality management practices.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement redesigned workflows in Customer environments.
- Contribute as a member of the IP Operations Leadership Team to drive Customer satisfaction, employee engagement, business growth, and strategic alignment.
The Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with 10 years of experience in roles of increasing leadership and responsibility in areas of operations management, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, or related consulting field; Candidates with High School Diploma or equivalent may be considered with at least 15 years experience in roles of increasing leadership and responsibility in areas of operations management, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, or related consulting field.
- Minimum 5 years in a Sterile Processing or Perioperative leadership position and/or Sterile Processing or Perioperative consulting position with process improvement experience, including knowledge of and proven compliance to relevant industry and government compliance program guidance, rules and regulations.
- 7+ years' experience working in Lean and continuous improvement environments.
- 5+ years' experience in effectively forecast and manage to departmental budget.
Preferred:
- Master's degree
Pay range for this opportunity is $141,737.50 - $183,425.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
