WHAT YOU WILL DO
We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Representative vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join us at a hands on level in a part of the business that contributes to the advancement of life saving medicines and other related products.
We are looking for someone with exceptional customer service skills and a technical background. If you have skill with mechanical and electrical products and are an excellent communicator we want to hear from you!
Duties - cont'd
- Drives Customer satisfaction through proactive communication and commitment to resolving Customers’ issues/problems.
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance required on STERIS and related product lines in a safe and efficient manner. This includes disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; rewiring or reassembling as required; troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating, and certifying equipment ready for use by using standard and specialized tools and test equipment (i.e., schematics, diagrams, technical manuals, etc.).
- Performs administrative duties as assigned to ensure effective planning, utilization, and required paperwork completion. This includes but is not limited to communicating schedule changes to the Customer Operations Department daily; verifying computer synchronization daily; completing service reports and activities within two business days after completing a Customer visit, maintaining on-site Customer Service Logs/Total Maintenance Care books according to STERIS procedures; and maintaining tools and parts inventory to prescribed levels as required by the District Service Manager.
- Develops and maintains effective, communicative relationships with Customers, managers, support functions and the sales organization. Communicates activities to Customers related to scheduling Preventative Maintenance and estimated time of arrival for unscheduled work. Proactively responds to and resolves Customer problems/issues. Utilizes provided product and industry knowledge to assure Customers’ expectations of service are exceeded.

- Increases company growth through identifying sales opportunities and recommending STERIS products/services to Customers. Communicates leads to management and sales staff.
- Responds to routine Customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance.
- Identifies opportunities, sizing, utility requirements, on-site visits, and pre-installation evaluations. Provides timely service calls, warranty calls, field upgrade programs, etc
- Maintains courteous and professional demeanour when working with Customers, contractors, management, and fellow employees. Utilizes Customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities and abides by all STERIS and Customer Health & Safety protocols and procedures.
- Learning period approximately six to twelve months.
Required Experience
- Completion of recognized mechanical, electrical, or electronic qualification. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in electronics, mechanical or similar discipline preferred.
- Two (2) years of related experience.
- The Life Sciences Division requires general knowledge of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and
- GEP (Good Engineering Practice) widely used in pharmaceutical and research environments.
Preferred Experience
- Strong Customer communications skills and experience with the demonstrated ability to build positive rapport and partner with a variety of Customers.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers and Windows software. Proficiency with web technologies and navigating internet/intranet sites.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside “normal business hours” and travel as required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of English language is essential
