Associate Applications Developer

Position Summary:

The Software Applications Developer is responsible for researching and developing innovative applications dedicated to the sterilization industry designed to meet market, customer, and regulatory requirements. They are also involved with onsite system commissioning, ongoing software maintenance, and development of internal software tools. Development tasks will include implementing software designs under the guidance of senior developers, unit testing programs, user testing, and supporting site implementation. Requests involve the development of applications for specification of the sterilization process, product tracking, reporting and data analytics. The position also requires staying abreast with advances in high level programming languages and practices, and leading-edge software development platforms and tools.  

*This position is based on site in Ottawa, ON, Canada, K2M2C6. There will be approximately 10% travel requirement*.

What you will do as a Associate Applications Developer:

•    Communicates and collaborates with supervisor, development team members and QA engineers
•    Adheres to formal design and quality processes and procedures exactly as written with no deviation. 
•    Utilizes best in class tool suites for code development and testing. 
•    Contributes to a team effort by performing in accordance with all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs other               duties as assigned.
•    Contribute to small features and minor defects resolution for front-end or back-end development.
•    Participate in product testing and validation process. Test developed software to minimize defects prior to code integration. 
•    Participate in on-site commissioning. 
•    Troubleshoot and maintain/support software. 
•    Supports Customer application upgrades and assists Customers during the troubleshooting and resolution process. 
•    Provides level 3 support to technical support team. All other duties as assigned.  
 

Education Degree

Specific Work Preferences:
•    Basic knowledge in .NET 
•    Basic knowledge in C# Basic in HTML/ CSS 
•    Basic knowledge in JavaScript 
•    Basic knowledge in Web Platforms 
•    Basic knowledge in SQL Server/SSMS 
•    Knowledge of front-end or back-end development 
•    Experience with Development management tools: JAMA/Jira/Bitbucket
