If so, Steris are looking for a Service Engineer to join their Field Service department based in Wales (LL/CH postcodes) for their Dental sector. As the Service Engineer you will be responsible for the effective servicing, repair, training and promotion of company products within the UK ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout.

The Role

 

As the Service Engineer you will take responsibility of the servicing of Steris products on customer premises within the UK. This includes organising, servicing, installing, repairing and carrying out routine maintenance, ensuring spares and specialised equipment is utilised effectively, this will ensure the optimum performance of our provided products. You will also prepare accurate and detailed service reports and record these when necessary whilst following the Steris company procedures defined in Standing Orders and Standard Operating Procedures. As you will be field based you will be required to report not only to team leaders but to office-based staff. This co-operation and daily communication will ensure information on customer requirements is updated. Other duties will include:

 

  • Plan optimum workload and journey times
  • Product training on company equipment and products, instructing customers in best use of products
  • Active promotion of Steris’ services and products, to sell where possible
  • Maintain stock of required spares
  • Undertake other necessary tasks when requested by management

Key Skills, Responsibilities and Attitudes

 

Customer relations experience (additional training provided)

Electro/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship with technical qualification to ONC or equivalent

Knowledge of service and maintenance function

Strong communication skills regarding technical matters

Energetic and proactive attitude

Organisational skills

Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to find and rectify defects

Clean driving license

Flexibility in terms of working hours and location
