Our Healthcare Customers are federally mandated (by Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services or CMS) requiring vendors to have the COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption.  There are select Customers who do not accept any exceptions. Unvaccinated Associates may be excluded from working at a Customer site, require routine testing with an approved exemption (if accepted by the Customer) or have limited Customer access impacting their ability to remain employed. Additionally, we may be required to meet state mandates on COVID-19 vaccination, exemptions and/or booster requirements. This position is a Customer-facing role that falls under a state or CMS mandate.

Position Summary

This position has management oversight of the assigned outsourced and interim engagements and is a strategic partner to hospital leadership within the contracted client facility. This includes the management of on-site Steris IP Clinical Operations including the direction and supervision of functional managers and the Sterile Processing Department. This individual must also ensure working relationships within the hospital are maintained.  Ensures SPD compliance with the Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards and facility policies and procedures. $7,500.00 Sign-On Bonus! Duties

 

  • Owns and maintains a strategic working relationship with hospital leadership, communicating frequently regarding process outcomes and opportunities for growth.
  • Proactively keeps Steris leadership apprised of potential challenges or opportunities.
  • Ensures Steris staff and leaders maintain a healthy working relationship with the hospital staff.
  • Utilizes lean principles and continuous improvement to drive process improvement and operational efficiency with the assigned Customer.
  • Monitors quality metrics and productivity on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Prepares Steris metrics reviews in quarterly business reviews and presents to hospital leadership.
  • Participates in the development and implements of annual plans to ensure current contract compliance.
  • Facilitates the financial improvement performance initiatives as related to contracted facility.
  • Oversees key projects such as process improvements or capital investment projects.
  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, and development.
  • Partners with peer group to advance site specific and cross-company growth.
  • Manages assigned supervisory and non-supervisory staff representing the S3 Division.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of various units.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

 

Required Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college required, Master’s degree from same preferred. Individual must possess a minimum of 8 years combined leadership experience including three to at least five years in a management position. 
  • Must be proficient in project management and strategic thinking.
  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Advanced skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Must be capable of learning additional software as required.
  • Experience working with tracking system Censitrak preferred.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, priority setting capabilities.
  • Must possess solid managerial, analytical, organizational skills and financial acumen. (budgets)
  • Must have solid understanding and leadership experience in Production environment/ Lean Manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
  • Experience working with Customers in the healthcare sector and/or tertiary care hospitals is preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare logistics including central processing and supply chain and/or materials management preferred.
  • Certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or HSPA is required.  If not certified at point of hire, it must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Ability to oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple Healthcare Central Service and Materials Management Departments.
  • Ability to work in a high stress, constantly changing environment daily.
