Position Summary
Join the growing digital team that develops SPM, a Surgical Instrument Tracking Software that is vital to the effective operation of Sterile Processing Departments within Hospitals. As a Product Designer, you are responsible for providing thought leadership and consultation on the aesthetic design and user experience of products in the digital portfolio.
Reporting to the Head of User Experience & Design, you will be engaged in taking new ideas from initial concept to full realization while spearheading improvements and enhancements to existing products and services.
You will thrive in an inclusive and highly collaborative environment, applying diverse methodologies and techniques to build prototypes and validate design solutions. You will work with Customers, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers to create revolutionary software solutions. You will be an evangelist for user-centric design, with a passion for translating complex tasks into simple interactions, driving ease of use as one of our core competitive advantages.
*This is a fully remote position that can be located anywhere in the Continental United States. You must have availability throughout the day to meet virtually with individuals in the United Kingdom, Eastern and Central time zones of the U.S.
Duties
- Guide the visual and interactive evolution of the digital portfolio across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with team members throughout the development cycle, including impromptu discussions and brainstorming actives. Pair with software developers & product managers on design.
- Support the team as needed with wireframes, flow diagrams, rapid prototypes, and visual design to help communicate and validate design ideas.
- Support user research efforts to validate prototypes and conduct ongoing usability testing activities.
- Be the voice and advocate of the Customer, sharing data and insights with the team to communicate Customer needs and best practices.
- Translate complex ideas into elegant, intuitive designs.
- Maintain a cohesive user experience via the consistent use of UI patterns.
- Inspire teams beyond good usability to delight users by promoting beautiful, cutting-edge visual design.
- Actively participate in the evolving User Experience & Design team strategy, discovering and piloting new tools and resources that promote agile and lean methodologies.
Required Experience
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience with 4 year degree working on user experience for healthcare, business, manufacturing or other relevant software applications
- In lieu of degree, 8+ years of experience working on user experience for healthcare, business, manufacturing or other relevant software applications
- Proficiency with common prototyping tools, preferably Figma
- Experience with an iterative design process that includes accepting and managing feedback
- Well-versed in fundamental visual and interactive design disciplines and principles (wireframes, user flows, mock-ups, prototypes, etc.). A keen sense of when to choose the right tool(s) to communicate the design.
- Ability to visualize, own, and execute creating an experience from initial conception to collaborating with engineers on implementation.
- Capable of rendering elaborate visuals – anything ranging from content layout to form elements and textures.
- A cutting-edge portfolio of software design that demonstrates outstanding interaction design skills across multiple devices. A thorough understanding of graphic design, page layout and typography.
- Understanding of HTML/CSS with direct experience optimizing design concepts around these technologies preferred
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) preferred
- Must be able to provide a link to a portfolio or case study that demonstrates your experience running a project from ideation to launch.

Pay range for this opportunity is $67,060.00 - $90,279.00. This position is eligible for for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability. Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
