Position Summary
Fabricate, repair, improve and assemble electrical/mechanical test equipment. Suggests and makes improvements to existing and new equipment. Conducts operational, performance, life and environmental tests on components and equipment. Assist in the development, testing, and operation of electrical, electro mechanical and/or hydraulic equipment. Utilize test equipment to measure light intensity, flow, pressure, strain, force, distance, time, sound levels, weight, torque, etc. May use Videotest Generator, Audiotest Generator, and Digital Voltmeter (DVM) and other test equipment as required. Perform technical analysis on returned product to determine root cause of Customer complaint or source of equipment malfunction. Provide direction and instruction to other Lab. Technicians on test set ups, equipment operation, and interpretation of test protocols.

Duties
- Knowledge to operate test equipment that measures temperature, light, flow, pressure, strain, force, distance, time, noise and weight
- Works from prints, sketched, written and verbal instructions and is capable of interpreting specifications
- Plans, orders and expedited materials and services needed to perform tests.
- Assists in analyzing equipment failures and factory work stoppage problems and offers corrective measures.
- Assists engineers in determining the type of test that will generate the optimum data.
- Assumes complex project assignment responsibility and disposes of equipment and apparatus upon completion of task
- Operates STERIS equipment
- Fabricates repairs, improves designs and construct mechanical and electromechanical equipment
- Designs and constructs automated text fixtures.
- Maintains detailed and up to date test data in Laboratory notebook and active test logs at all times.
- Must be able to use drill press, band saw, metal working tools and demonstrate excellent machine shop practice.
- Maintain facility in a safe, clean and orderly manner at all times.
- Understanding of applicable codes and regulatory requirements relating to product design and testing (FDA, IEC, NFPA, etc.) and the ability to apply these codes to product testing.
- Travel up to 5% including internationally.
- Maintain Lab Equipment and procedures to comply with Intertek requirements for Satellite Lab Test Facility.
- Provide direction and instruction to other Lab Technicians and employees on test set ups, equipment operation, and interpretation of test protocols.
- Knowledgeable of applicable standards and codes for testing and verifying, medical devices.
- Provide support to production as required and assist in maintaining and programming production test equipment.
Education Degree
- High School Diploma or GED
