Position Summary

As a Senior Designer you will be responsible for overall design and documentation responsibilities of products and product modification in terms of meeting Customer requirements on a timely basis. This includes being accountable for designs and design documentation produced by designers and Associate Designers in the group.

Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm

What you will do as a Senior Designer

  • Generates or modifies designs, and design concepts which are reliable, cost effective, serviceable, and compatible with code requirements. In addition, participates as problem solver in meetings addressing costs, function, and reliability of designs.
  • Prepares design layouts, in two or three dimensions, and identifies critical function in terms of tolerances, materials, and complexity.
  • Assesses and controls drafting and design work of drafting personnel and takes responsibility for accuracy needed in overall product documentation. Teaches and assists with the development of design personnel.
  • Assumes responsibility for complete product design and transfer to manufacturing relative to thoroughness and accuracy. Solicits product improvement ideas from Purchasing, Material Planning, Customers, and Manufacturing floor. Supports assembly of models, prototypes, reproduction, and sales order units. Assist with production start-ups in Manufacturing and helps resolve problems in design and design documentation.
  • Maintains involvement with new technologies related to design, design documentation, and manufacturing processes. Manages release of documentation through appropriate release system to accomplish manufacture of new or modified special products.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • High school graduate/GED
  • Ten years of design experience with significant CAD experience. Also, PC literacy required.

Pay range for this opportunity is $35.96 - $46.54. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
